(VIDEOS) TIMs Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan Meet with the President of the Philippines.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015,Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan met with the President of the Philippines, Mr. Benigno Aquino, at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

According to the newspaper, Philippine Star, President Aquino received:

“…Japan’s highest honor, the Grand Cordon of the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum. The award was previously accorded to former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and members of Britain’s royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Prince William.

In return, Aquino bestowed the Order of Lakandula Grand Collar (Supremo) on Emperor Akihito, for his contributions to strengthening and pushing forward the relations between Japan and the Philippines.” 

In the evening, the Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko hosted a gala dinner in honor of President Aquino’s four-day state visit to Japan.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco gave a welcoming speech during the opening of the 2015 Women in Leadership Summit: Make an Impact in the World held inside the Salon Eiffel at the Hotel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo.

The exclusive invitation-only five-day summit “… gathers the world’s most influential, powerful and respected women business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials to collaborate Monaco…”

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by Their Imperial and Royal Highnesses Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduchess and Archduke of Austria-Este presided over the 2015 Prix International Roi Baudouin pour le Développement en Afrique held at the Palais de Bruxelles.

The award honors outstanding contributions of individuals or organizations in the development field in Africa.  The award also highlights the innovative initiatives which improve quality-of-life and empower local communities to take development into their own hands.

The winner of the 2015 Prix International Roi Baudouin pour le Développement en Afrique went to Mr. Deogratias Niyonkuru, founder of the organization ADISCO Burundi.  The organization received the award for their:

“…work in encouraging entrepreneurship and creating cooperatives and health insurance societies federated at national level, so as to strengthen the financial autonomy of individuals and sustainably change the conditions of living together for the people of Burundi…”

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco Visits a Maternity Ward.

Recently, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco visited the maternity ward at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo on the occasion of Fête des Mères.  During her visit the princess met with doctors, nurses, representatives from the Croix-Rouge Monégasque, as well as mothers and their newborn children.

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and HRH The Countess of Wessex Attend a Garden Party.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester attended the National Federation of Women’s Institutes Centenary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in London.

(VIDEOS) The King and Queen of Spain Visit Paris, France.

On June 2, 2015, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived in Paris, France for a three-day state visit.  Upon their arrival at the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile the reigning couple were warmly welcomed to the City of Lights by the President of France, Mr. François Hollande, and other government officials.

After a meeting with President Hollande and photo-op for the press at the Palais de l’Élysée Their Majesties arrived at the Grand Palais Galeries Nationales to view the exhibition, Velázquez and the Triumph of Spanish Painting.

This evening King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will attend a dinner, held in their honor, at the Palais de l’Élysée hosted by President Hollande.
