Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Attend the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry’s 200th Formal Gathering.

HisMajestyKCGOn January 28, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry’s 200th formal gathering held at the Stockholm City Hall.

Per the Swedish royal court:

“The formal gathering began with President Kerstin Niblaeus welcoming all those present and declaring the gathering open. 

The King then gave a speech, in which he said, ‘During the past two hundred years, there have been enormous advances in Swedish agriculture, in terms of both productivity and efficiency. The role of the Academy has also changed over the years. 

The authority commissions have disappeared, and the Academy has increasingly become a forum for discussions on topical issues…’”

Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden Visits the National Museum in Stockholm.

SilviaOn January 28, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden visited the National Museum in Stockholm to inaugurate the project, Möten med Minnen (Meetings with Memories).

According to the Swedish royal court and AlzheimerFonden, this unique project collaborates with:

“…museums around Sweden to help them create custom applications with interactive views of people with dementia and their families.  Möten med Minnen aims to provide stimulus through conversations and discussions about museum collections.  The positive experiences at a museum will also help enhance the quality of life of dementia victims.”

Members of the Swedish Royal Family Attend a Seminar. (VIDEO)

seminarTheir Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden along with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Christina, Mrs. Magnuson, attended the seminar, Goda Idéer för en bättre värld: Ett samtal om de Kungliga Stiftelserna, held inside the Bernadotte Library at the royal palace in Stockholm.

According to the Swedish royal court the purpose of today’s event is to, “…provide a greater insight into the royal foundations and get more applicants.”
