On October 29, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived in Azucaica in the district of Toledo, Spain, to open the El Greco nursing home and day center.  After the opening the princess toured the facility which “…houses 160 spaces for residents…” met with staff as well as with residents.

Meanwhile, in Madrid, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias participated in the 25th anniversary celebrations of the communications network, RedIRIS.  Established in 1988 the company “…provides communications, digital identity, security, mobility, email quality, collaboration and other computer services to the Spanish academic and scientific community.”

And, finally, yesterday afternoon Prince Felipe visited “…Carbures Europe, a manufacturer specialized in carbon structures technologies for airplanes…”

On Monday, October 28, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain visited the Instituto de Genética Médica y Molecular research facility at the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid.  During her visit Her Majesty toured the facility and met with various researchers and doctors.

On October 24, 2013, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar.

On Monday, October 21, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias held audiences at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid with representatives from the Federación Española de Párkinson, Centro de Educación Infantil and Primaria Bilingüe “Príncipe de Asturias” and writers as well as editors from the Spanish fashion and beauty magazine Telva.

On Monday, October 21, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived in the city of Alcorcón to participate in the opening of the new building of the Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid (Food Bank Foundation of Madrid).

According to the Spanish royal court, the Fundación Reina Sofía and the Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentos helped fund the construction of the new building as well as the premises surrounding.

On Friday, October 18, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived in Totana, Murcia, to participate in the inauguration of the VI Congreso Nacional de Enfermedades Raras (VI National Congress on Rare Diseases).

On Wednesday, October 16, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Dirección General de la Guardia Civil in Madrid to inaugurate the Centro de Coordinación de Vigilancia Marítima de Costas y Fronteras.

According to the Spanish royal court, the new facility is the command post for all “…coordinated surveillance and emergency missions to combat drug trafficking, human trafficking and rescues boats among other actions.”
