On the evening of November 6, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Ritz Hotel in Madrid to preside over the XXX Edición del Premio de Periodismo Francisco Cerecedo ceremony.
This evening’s ceremony honored Spanish journalist and editor, Mr. Xavier Vidal-Folch, for his reporting and analysis of the economic and moral crisis in Spain and Europe according to the Spanish royal court.
On the evening of November 5, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Casa de ABC in Madrid to attend a gala dinner in honor of the winners of the Mariano de Cavia, Luca de Tena and Mingote prizes according to the Spanish royal court.
On the morning of November 5, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Auditorio Fundacion Canal in Madrid to participate in the inauguration of the 1st Congreso Internacional Contra la Violencia de Género.
Today’s conference, held under the theme Nuevas Formas de Violencia, was organized by the Gobierno Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid in collaboration with the Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIAPP), the Fundación Canal de Isabel II, the Fundación La Caixa and the United States Embassy in Spain according to the Spanish royal court.
After the conference Princess Letizia participated in a meeting with representatives from the Red de Atención Integral para la Violencia de Género de la Comunidad de Madrid.
On Monday, November 4, 2013, the Spanish royal court announced that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain will have another operation on November 21, 2013, at Hospital Quirón in Madrid.
According to the Spanish news agency, EFE, His Majesty will:
“…undergo the second surgical procedure needed to implant a permanent prosthesis in his left hip. Dr. Miguel Cabanela, who removed the monarch’s infected left hip prosthesis on Sept. 24, will perform the operation…”
On October 30, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias presided over the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of AGQ Labs in Burguillos in the province of Sevilla, Spain. During yesterday’s event the future king of Spain also inaugurated AGQ’s new building in Burguillos.
On October 30, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Real Casa de la Moneda in Madrid to attend the 2013 Asociación Española de Editoriales de Publicaciones Periódicas (AEEPP) Awards ceremony.
On October 29, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Cine Callao in Madrid to attend the première of the documentary, Manzanas, Pollos y Quimeras, by Ms. Inés París.
The film documents the lives of several African women who relocated to Spain, their reasons for coming, how they have adapted to living in a new country, and the struggles as well as the success they have achieved in Spain.
