On Sunday, February 3, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan began his two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates.  The purpose of this important visit is to strengthen bilateral and economic ties between the two countries as well as to discuss the Syrian crisis and more according to the Petra News Agency.  

Upon his arrival His Majesty was warmly greeted by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as other important dignitaries.  Afterward, His Majesty and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting at Al Rawda Palace.

According to the newspaper, Gulf News, today’s discussions focused on the:

“…importance of energizing cooperation between Arab countries to serve their strategic interests and of continuous coordination and consultation to promote joint action and advance the interests of their peoples and their just causes.

The two leaders exchanged [also] views on the latest regional and international events, current developments in the Middle East as well as efforts being made by the international community to attain a comprehensive, just peace that meets the rights of Palestinian people in line with the international legitimacy and as the sole way to preserve security and stability in the region.”

On January 29, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan met with His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.  According to the Jordan Times, Their Majesties discussed, “… bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region, with focus on the Syrian crisis.”  Please click here for more information regarding yesterday’s meeting.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan presided over the “...Jordan River Foundation board of trustees annual meeting…” in Amman on Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan will travel to Bahrain on January 29, 2013, to met with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss “… bilateral relations and the latest development in the region…” according to the Jordan News Agency.

His Majesty will then travel to Kuwait on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, where he will “… participate in a major donors conference.”  His Majesty was invited to the event by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon.
