Prince Albert II of Monaco Opens an Exhibition at the Grimaldi Forum.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo to officially open the exhibition, Escales Au Bout Du Monde: Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises.

The exhibition, curated and created by Ms. Stéphanie Légeron and Mr. Bruno Marie, offers visitors the chance to discover French Southern and Antarctic lands “…the most unusual and exotic of the French overseas collectivities at the end of the world. The exhibition will delight all audiences who will embark on a trip to the tropics, to the southern isles or to the white continent by means of forty spectacular panels.”  

Escales Au Bout Du Monde: Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises will be open to the public until September 27, 2015.  Admission is free.

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Host an Award Ceremony.

On the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2015, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco hosted the 2015 Princess Grace Awards Gala held at the Palais Princier in Monaco.

This is the first time this special award ceremony is being held in beautiful Monaco at the request of Princess Charlene to offer a unique setting to Princess Grace’s legacy.  Tonight’s event, sponsored by Christian Dior Couture, will also announce the significant increase in collaboration between the Princess Grace Foundation-USA and the Fondation Princesse Grace de Monaco.

The winner of the Prince Rainier III Award went to writer, director, producer, activist, and Oscar winner, Mr. Robert Redford and his wife, Sibylle Szaggars Redford.  The couple received the prestigious award for their “…outstanding contributions to the Arts and their exemplary give-back…” according to a press release.

TSHs Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the 2015 Pique-Nique des Monégasques.

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 29, 2015, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco along with their adorable twins, HSH Hereditary Prince Jacques and HSH Princess Gabriella, attended the 2015 Pique-Nique des Monégasques held at the Parc Princesse-Antoinette in lovely Monaco.

The princely family along with Monseigneur Bernard Barsi, the sovereign prince’s cousin, Ms. Elisabeth-Anne de Massy and her daughter, Miss Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, the President of the National Council, Mr. Laurent Nouvion, the mayor of Monaco, Mr. Georges Marsan, other various Monégasque government officials, and dozens of Monégasque citizens enjoyed a day filled with delicious local cuisine, music, and performances by the traditional Monégasque folklore dance company,  La Palladienne.

(VIDEO) HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Unveils a Monument.

On Thursday, August 27, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco accompanied by Monseigneur Bernard Barsi, Rabbi Haïm Korsia, the Minister of State of Monaco, Mr. Michel Roger, and other Monégasque government officials unveiled a monument at the Cimetiére de Monaco in remembrance of Jews living in Monaco who were deported to Nazi concentration camps during World War II. Yesterday’s ceremony was “…chosen to mark 73 years since Monégasque authorities, under pressure from Nazi collaborationist leaders in France, rounded up at least 66 Jews on the night of Aug. 27-28, 1942. They were among about 90 people deported from Monaco, or Monégasque residents deported from neighboring France, during the war…” according to the Associated Press.

In his speech, the sovereign prince apologized for Monaco’s role in deporting so many innocent people:

“..to say this today is to recognize a fact. To say it today, on this day, before you, is to ask forgiveness.  We committed the irreparable in handing over women, men and a child who had taken refuge with us to escape the persecutions they had suffered in France.  We did not protect them. It was our responsibility.  In distress, they came specifically to take shelter with us, thinking they would find neutrality.” 

 

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Presents An Award to Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio.

On July 21, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco presented the Institut Océanographique’s  2015 Médaille Albert Ier pour la Médiation to five-time Academy Award nominee and well-known environmentalist, Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio.

Established in 2014 the Médaille Albert Ier pour la Médiation award is presented to individuals who are committed to protecting the environment specifically the world’s oceans.

On the evening of Saturday, July 25, 2015, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 67th Edition of the Gala de la Croix-Rouge Monégasque held inside the Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo in Monaco. Tonight’s musical guest was Grammy winning singer and songwriter, Sting.

Established in 1948 by the late His Serene Highness Prince Louis II of Monaco the annual gala is held for the “… generous donors and pays tribute to the work it [the Croix-Rouge Monégasque (CRM)] has been able to carry out with the donations, which finance its actions both locally and internationally…” according to a CRM press release.
