T.S.H.s Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the 63rd Annual Red Cross Gala Ball

On August 5, 2011, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 63rd Annual Red Cross Gala Ball at the Sporting d’Eté Club in Monte-Carlo.

According to the French newspaper, L’Express (yes, that paper), approximately:

…800 guests  paid 1,000 Euros to attend the fundraiser gala event.  After dinner the guests listened to Joe Cocker, a British singer with the gravelly voice.  The Monaco resident, Shirley Bassey, was responsible for organizing the evening and a raffle with lots of prestige.

The princess looked lovely in a dress by Akris; moreover, it’s nice to see the Océan Tiara (as a necklace) for the for the first time on Princess Charlene.  Oh, yeah, Prince Albert looked nice too. Anyway… Other members of the princely family of Monaco attended including H.R.H. Princess Caroline, H.S.H. Princess Stephanie, and members from the de Massey as well as the Wittstock family.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco Attends the ‘Art of Graffiti’ Exhibition

On August 4, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the exhibition, Art of Graffiti, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

Per the website, Visit Monaco, the exhibition:

…presents a world première of a unique panorama of bright, colorful works, accessible to all, created by leading international artists.

“Pressionism,” the latest art movement of the twentieth century, was formerly ephemeral, but is now inscribed in the history of art.

At its first exhibition in Paris, more than 80,000 visitors in five weeks flocked to see the Gallizia collection!  Its creator, Alain-Dominique Gallizia and Yves Saint-Geours, President of the Grand Palais, are pleased to have been able to reach such a wide, diverse audience.

This time, Alain-Dominique Gallizia is presenting 500 paintings in Monaco;  eight collections, including one on the theme of love – a first for all these artists, who have risen to the challenge of working on the same theme for the first time.

This major summer exhibition celebrates the anniversary of the art of Graffiti, gives it an official name and inscribes it in the history of art.

If you happen to be in Monaco at this time why not visit this fantastic show.  It all ends on August 19, 2011.  To learn more about the exhibition please click here.  To view photos please click here.

Monaco Gears Up for the 63rd Annual Monaco Red Cross Ball

The 63rd Annual Monaco Red Cross Ball is an event that many, especially royal watchers, look forward to each year and this season will be one to remember.  Why?  Well, it will be H.S.H. Princess Charlene’s first regal event as an official member of the princely family of Monaco.  Though it is highly unlikely, but I would be a fantastic time for the princess to wear the lovely Océan Tiara by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Anyway, the ball will be held tomorrow, August 5, at the Sporting d’Eté Club in the Salle des Etoiles with a special performance from Joe Cocker (the dude who sings the theme song from The Wonder Years television show).  Also, there will be an “…elegantly prepared meal…” and fireworks at the end of the evening.

Overall, the Monaco Red Cross Ball is a great event that raises money for various charities and anyone who is everyone attends this gala event.

In other Monaco related news, the French newspaper, L’Express, received their subpoena this afternoon regarding that little old lawsuit against the paper.

If you don’t know by now the paper is being sued by Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene for “spreading false rumors” and “invasion of privacy” days before the lavish princely nuptials in Monaco.  The managing editor of L’Express, Christophe Barbier, stands by the story he ran in his newspaper regarding the alleged unstable relationship between the prince and princess, “…recoupé l’information de trois sources différentes qui sont toutes les trois fables.” Basically, he noted that his sources, all three of them, are reliable… etc, etc.
