On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited the neighborhoods of Lunetten and Hoograven in the city of Utrecht.
According to the newspaper, Haarlem Dagblad, during today’s visit His Majesty spent time speaking to:
“…local residents and parents active in the neighborhood. They talked about how people with different backgrounds feel at home in the neighborhood and what they do with each other in order to strengthen social cohesion.”
His Majesty also visited the football clubs, Ardahanspor VVU and DVSU, where he spoke with the directors as well as volunteers.
On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended the opening of the 3rd annual IGNITE conference, Doing Business in Fragile States’, held at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.
Issues to be discussed during the one-day conference include “…how entrepreneurship can contribute to diminishing the increasing flow of refugees from Africa and the Middle East…” according to an IGNITE press release. The objective of the conference is to deepen the understanding of entrepreneurship development in fragile and conflict affected states and to develop better tools to support entrepreneurship opportunities for marginalized groups in these environments.
On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands officially reopened De Resident in Den Haag.
The building, which houses the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, features a glass roof as a connection between the two ministries and an atrium as the joint entrance according to RVD.
After the opening His Majesty was given a tour of the new building where he met with numerous employees from various departments as well as visited the Petit Café De Resident.
On Friday, November 6, 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands attended De Nationale Opera & Ballet 50th anniversary celebrations at the Opera Gala in Amsterdam.
On Sunday, November 8, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied by Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, TRHs The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, HRH Prince Harry of Wales, HRH The Duke of York, TRHs The Earl and Countess of Gloucester, and HRH Princes Alexandra, The Honorable Lady Ogilvy attended Remembrance Sunday held at the Cenotaph Memorial in Whitehall, London, England.
TM King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended this year’s ceremony following an “…invitation from the Queen to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands after the end of the Second World War…” according to the British royal court.

On the afternoon of November 4, 2015, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the opening of the 1st Geleidehondenbeleving (Guide dog Experience) at KNGF Geleidehonden in Amstelveen.
According to the news agency PPE, the “…experience gives an insight of the value of a guide dog for his blind boss.”
