Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Opens the Philips Museum. (VIDEOS)

On April 5, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was in Eindhoven to officially open the Philips Museum.  According to RVD the museum is:

“…located in the first Philips light bulb factory in the center of Eindhoven where the first bulb produced in 1891. The exhibition in the thoroughly renovated factory tells visitors about  the story of the company from the start to future innovative developments. 

After the opening and a tour of the museum, the Queen paid a visit to Philips Research on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven.”

News Regarding His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje.

WAOn the morning of April 4, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje visited the Jongerencentrum Jimmy’s (Jimmy’s Youth Center) in Stadskanaal.

According to RVD, the youth center is a “…new concept for youth centers where young people are used to help their peers.”  During his visit the future king of the Netherlands met with staff and youths at the center.

In the afternoon, Prince Willem-Alexander visited the EnTranCe (Energy Transition Center) a “…a laboratory for applied research that industry, government and education can collaborate on future energy supply.”  

From there the prince travelled to Groningen where he opened the new office, GasTerra.  According to RVD, the office building was:

“…completely rebuilt and redeveloped so that it meets the highest demands in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency.  GasTerra is an international company trading in natural gas contributing to the Dutch and European gas supply. The company promotes the safe and efficient use of natural gas and is committed to the development of clean and efficient gas application.”

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. (VIDEO)

BeatrixThis morning it was announced by RVD that on April 29, 2013, a pre-recorded speech by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will be broadcast on Nederland 1 and Radio 1.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the National Review of Queen’s Scouts at Windsor Castle and participated in the National Scout Service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on April 21, 2013.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje in Eindhoven. (VIDEOS)

On April 3, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Eindhoven to participate in the launch the new DAF Euro XF trucks.

According to RVD:

“DAF invested one billion Euros in a completely new vehicle series and adaptations of its factories in Eindhoven and Westerlo to the production of these new generation of trucks.

DAF Trucks NV is a subsidiary of the American PACCAR Inc. The company produces light, medium and heavy duty trucks.”

HRH Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Receives New Stamps.

PssMaximaOn April 2, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Special Collections Department at the University of Amsterdam to receive the first 1001 Vrouwen (1001 Women) stamps on the occasion of “…of the exhibition, ‘1001 Women in the Dutch history’…”

According to RVD:

The 1001 Women sheetlet contains ten stamps with portraits of notable women in Dutch history. The four upper and four lower postage stamps are identical, so a total of six women from six different centuries are shown.

The following six women are depicted: The explorer Alexandrine Tinne, the writer Belle van Zuylen Utrecht heroine of the ‘Eighty Years War Trijn of Leemput’, the painter Mary Oosterwijck, the land lady Mary of Burgundy and the theologian Anna Zernike.”
