Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, on Tuesday December 6, 2011 presented a banner to the Military Administration Corps of the Army at the Parliament Buildings in Den Haag. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Mr. JSJ Hillen and Chief of Defence, General PJM van Uhm. The banner also symbolizes the connection with the Dutch royal family and the solidarity within the military corps.
On December 2, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands attended a symposium to “… 65th anniversary of the family doctor association (LHV)…” in Den Haag.
On November 29, 2011, H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, T.R.H.s Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended a gala dine, held at Noordeinde Palace in Den Haag, in honor of the President of Mali, Amadou Toumani Toure’s, official visit to the Netherlands.
On November 29, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the opening of the new Zonnehuis in Zuidhorn. Upon her arrival the princess was greeted by Mayor Bert Swart and Commissioner Max van den Berg. After the opening Princess Maxima mingled with the residents of this new housing and care facility for the elderly.
H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands officially welcomed the president of Mali, Mr. Amadou Toumani Toure and his wife, at Noordeninde Palace in Den Haag on November 29, 2011.
President Toure and his delegation are in the Netherlands for a three-day official visit. During their stay President Toure and his delegation will meet with T.R.H.s Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, attend a gala dinner, attend meetings with various Dutch politicians and much more.
On November 28, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands held an audience with the President of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, at Huis ten Bosch Palace in Den Haag. President Türk is in the Netherlands on a working visit. During his time in the country he will visit the International Court in Den Haag as well as attend various meetings with Dutch companies.
On November 28, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 2011 Prince Berhard Cultuurfonds Award in Amsterdam. Held at the Muziekgebouw (Music Building) this year’s prestigious award was given to filmmaker and photographer, Anton Corbijn. According to, NOS, Mr. Corbjin won the prize:
…because he’s an important image-maker and shaper of popular culture of his generation. He serves as an international example for photographers, designers and art directors.
During the festivities there were performances by Bono, Chris Martin and Herbert Grönemeyer.
