HRH Princess Marie of Denmark Attends a Conference in Paris, France.

On the afternoon of October 28, 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark attended the UNESCO 70th anniversary history conference held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.

Held under the theme, Making a Difference: Seventy Years of UNESCO Actions, discussions focused on “…world heritage conservation to post-conflict reconstruction, from peace building to dissemination of knowledge. The objective is to gain a better understanding of UNESCO’s relevance and its capacity to help building the defenses of peace in the minds of men and women…” according to the UNESCO official website.

(VIDEO) HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Attends an Unveiling.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark unveiled the new 2015 Julemærket (Christmas Seal) at inside the Ballroom at the Københavns Rådhus.

For the third time Her Majesty designed the popular Julemærket.  Proceeds from the sale of the Julemærket go to “…Denmark’s four Christmas Seal homes, where roughly 750 children each year take up residence. Here they get help to deal with various problems such as bullying and loneliness…” according to the Danish royal court.

(VIDEO) HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Attends a Conference.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark accompanied by representatives from the Mary Fonden, attended a conference held at the Idrættens Hus in Brøndby.

The focus/theme of today’s conference: Welfare in Recreational Life.

After today’s event the crown princess gave an interview with TV2 journalist, Mr. Jes Dorph.

(VIDEOS) Members of the Danish Royal Family Attend the Opening of Folketinget.

On the morning of October 6, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Princess Henrik of Denmark along with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark, and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the opening of the 2015 Folketingets (Parliament) at Christiansborg Slot in Copenhagen.

A Royal Gathering in Norway.

Over the weekend Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway hosted a “royal heirs gathering” of sorts at their modest summer home, Mågerø.

Attending the royal get–together were TRHs Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and their four children, HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her daughter, HRH Princess Estelle, TRHs Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg, HRH Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, and HH Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway.

Unfortunately, HRH Prince Daniel of Sweden did not attend the gathering.  According to the Norwegian royal court, the prince had a cold.

News Regarding Members of the Danish Royal Family.

Prince Henrik of Denmark

On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, the Danish royal court announced that His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark’s youngest sister, Madame Maurille Beauvillain de Monpezat, passed away in France this morning.  The funeral will take place later this week.

And, finally, Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg, the former HRH Princess Alexandra of Denmark, announced that she getting a divorced.  Again.

denmarkIn a statement released to the press the 51-year-old countess noted that she and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Mr. Martin Jørgensen, did not “…share the same values anymore…” and that she “…could not see a future together.  It has not been easy…”

The countess and Mr. Jørgensen were married on March 3, 2007, at the Øster Egede Kirke in south Jutland.  They have no children together.
