Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Attends the Coronation Festival Evening Gala at Buckingham Palace.

QEIIOn the evening of July 11, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as well as other members of the royal family attended the Coronation Festival Evening Gala held in front of the West Terrace at Buckingham Palace.

According to a Buckingham Palace press release the gala:

“…showcased 60 years of music and dance which connect with the themes of the Coronation Festival — tradition, excellence and innovation.  Tonight’s performances featured UK artists such as Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson and The Feeling, alongside the National Youth Orchestra and the English National Ballet.  The gala performance celebrates the musical journey through Britain and the Commonwealth since The Queen’s Coronation in 1953.”

QEIIOn the afternoon of July 11, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended a preview of the Coronation Festival held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

According to a press release via Buckingham Palace, Her Majesty “…met with a number of Royal Warrant Holders taking part in the Coronation Festival as well as representatives of the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST).”

This evening Her Majesty accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and other members of the royal family are expected to attend the Coronation Festival gala held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Visits the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts. (VIDEO)

PoWOn July 10, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales arrived in east London to visit the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts which “…specializes in teaching, researching, and promoting the practice and theory of the arts and crafts of the world’s great traditions.”  

Whilst at the school the prince viewed the 2013 Degree Show which showcases designs by graduate students.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall Presents an Award During the 2013 RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

camillaOn July 10, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall arrived at Hampton Court Palace in Surrey to attend the second day of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

During today’s visit the duchess presented Mr. Tom Galligan with the 2013 RHS Young School Gardener of the Year award.  According to the official website for the Royal Horticultural Society Mr. Galligan won the award for:

“…demonstrating [his] advanced gardening knowledge for his age, a tremendous passion, and also skills to grow a wide range of plants. Additionally he showed excellent understanding of environmental and sustainable issues.”

The Duchess of Cornwall also visited various exhibitors as well as gardens at the show.

TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Host a Reception at Clarence House.

CamillaCharlesOn the evening of July 9, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a reception in the gardens at Clarence House in London for  supporters of the charity, Elephant Family.

The mission of Elephant Family is to protect and save the Asian elephant which, as of today, is on the verge of extinction.  Per the official website for Elephant Family:

“Since our launch in 2002, we’ve been busy. We’ve invested over £6 million to save the Asian elephant, working to secure elephant and wildlife habitat, supporting local communities to reduce incidents of human-elephant conflict, highlighting the plight of the Asian elephant with UK-wide education, programs, publicity and lobbying governments and corporations to take action.”
