Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Attends a Reception at St. James’s Palace.

qeii-2012Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II attended a reception this evening at St. James’s Palace in London to celebrate the “…50th anniversary of the Community Service Volunteers…” according to Buckingham Palace.

The Community Service Volunteers (CSV) is:

“…the UK’s leading volunteering and learning charity for over half a century. From the northern reaches of Scotland to the southern tip of England, and everywhere in-between, over three million people from across the UK and beyond have embarked on new adventures in their communities to benefit others as part of CSV-led programs.

CSV’s success lies in facilitating social action on a local and national basis, working in and with some of the most deprived communities across the UK. CSV create and promote an innovative range of volunteering and learning opportunities accessible to everyone. Every day CSV makes a difference to people’s lives, supporting families in difficulty, young people in transition to adulthood, disabled and vulnerable adults, and isolated older people.

CSV’s learning projects provide a better chance of employment through apprenticeships, foundation learning courses and innovative social enterprises.”

TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Begin Their Three-Day Summer Tour of Cornwall. (VIDEOS)

CamillaCharlesOn July 15, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall began their three-day summer tour of Cornwall.

The royal couple began their day in the popular seaside town of Bude.  Whilst there they met with members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and members of the Bude Surf Life Saving Club who just celebrated their 60th anniversary.  The prince and the duchess also toured the town where they met with locals as well as visited various businesses.

Soon, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall arrived at Bude Castle, the former home of Sir Goldsworthy Gurney, where they toured the grounds of the lovely castle which was built in 1830.

From the castle, the prince and the duchess were driven to the newly restored, Stratton Community Hospital.  Upon their arrival the royal couple were warmly welcomed by staff and patients.  After being given a tour of the hospital the prince and the duchess attended a reception for “…supporters of the hospital…” according to Clarence House.

Afterward, The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Little Harbour Hospice at Porthpean, St. Austell. Whilst there the duchess was given a tour of the facility, unveiled a plaque marking her visit, met with patients as well as their families, and attended a reception at the hospice.

In the evening, The Duchess of Cornwall joined The Prince of Wales at the Duchy Nursery where they hosted a reception for the members of the Cornwall Crafts Association who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal Attends Garden Party in Saunderton.

AnneOn Thursday, July 11, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal arrived in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, to attend a garden party in celebration of the great works by the volunteers of the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity.

According to the newspaper, Buck Free Press, during yesterday’s party the princess:

“…thanked the volunteers for all their hard work over the years and presented a special award to Marj Pilkington, a long standing volunteer who was also one of the charity’s first puppy socializers, starting back in 1991.”
