On October 31, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh arrived in East Sussex for a one-day visit to the region.

This morning Her Majesty and the duke visited the West Quay Fisheries in Newhaven where they “…were shown more than 40 varieties of fish caught off the Sussex coast by a local fleet…” according to the London Evening Standard.  Thereafter, Her Majesty and the duke arrived in Beddingham to open the “…new £5 million 68-bed youth hostel at South Downs National Park.”

Soon, Her Majesty and the duke arrived in Lewes where they visited Harveys Brewery.  After a nice lunch they made their way to Brighton where Her Majesty officially opened the “…new historical resource center for East Sussex and Brighton and Hove…” known as The Keep.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales hosted a reception at Clarence House in London “…to celebrate the achievement of ‘Nursing Times’ Award winners and nominees…”

The Prince of Wales also attended the Royal Television Society’s Craft Skills Master Class held at the Hospital Club in London.

And, finally, yesterday the prince gave a speech during the 9th World Islamic Economic Forum reception and gala dinner held at The Guildhall in London.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Ebony Horse Club Community Riding Center in Brixton, South London.  Established in 1996 the Ebony Horse Club is:

“…a charity [which helps] to improve the life skills, education and aspirations of children and young people growing up in deprived communities in Brixton by providing access to horse riding, outdoor activities and mentoring.”

On October 28, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal arrived at the Defence Animal Centre in Melton Mowbray to officially open “…three new military kennel blocks…” according to the newspaper, Leicester Mercury.

On Monday, October 28, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace “…in advance of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting…” according to the British royal court.

Well, this is unfortunate.  It seems His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales has fractured his toe just weeks ahead of his South Pole trek.
