On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Cambridge accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales arrived at the moat at the Tower of London to view artist, Mr. Paul Cummins, poppy field art installation, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, as well as to commemorate Britain’s entry into the First World War on August 4, 1914.

On July 4, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh attended the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Forth Road Bridge in South Queensferry, Scotland.
According to the newspaper, Edinburgh Reporter, during today’s event Her Majesty “…unveil[ed] a plaque dedicated to the people who have worked on the maintenance and operation of the Bridge over the past 50 years.”

According to the British royal court:
“…The Order of the Thistle represents the highest honor in Scotland. It is second only in precedence in the UK to the Order of the Garter.
The Order honors Scottish men and women who have held public office or who have contributed in a particular way to national life.”
