Well, today is the big Diamond Jubilee River Pageant in London and to honor Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II here is the recent BBC One documentary entitled, A Jubilee Tribute to The Queen by The Prince of Wales.  Enjoy!   🙂

On May 30, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was at the Caledonian Club in London to participate in a dinner “… with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland…” in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

Meanwhile, Their Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were at the St Martin in the Fields Church, in London,  to participate in a service:

… to honor past and present recipients of the Victoria Cross, the military’s highest accolade, and the George Cross, which is awarded for acts of bravery by civilians.

Afterward, the royal couple attended a reception held at the Naval & Military Club with “… holders of the Victoria Cross  and George Cross…” according to the Press Association.

Also this afternoon, the Duchess of Cornwall visited Spitalfields Urban Farm and a women’s group in East London.  Click here and here to read more about these two events.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was at Buckingham Palace on May 24, 2012, to attend a reception for the launch of ‘Queen Victoria’s Journals’.  Also, in attendance were Lady Jane Roberts, curator from the Royal Archives Collections and many others.

According to the Press Association, the project, ‘Queen Victoria’s Journals’, consists of:

More than 40,000 pages of the journals kept by Victoria from the age of 13 until just before her death have been made available online. The Royal Archives, Bodleian Libraries at Oxford University and online publisher ProQuest scanned the pages – some in Victoria’s own hand and some edited and then transcribed by her daughter Beatrice after her death – for the six-month project, carried out to mark the Diamond Jubilee.

On May 23, 2012, Zara Philips, daughter of Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, carried the “…Olympic torch at Cheltenham racecourse while riding her horse, Toytown.”  As she made her dramatic entrance thousands of fans cheered her on while the theme song from the 1981 movie, Chariots of Fire, blasted through the speakers.

Yeah, it was kind of cheesy.  Personally, speaking Clark Griswold did it better in the movie, Vacation… minus the horse.   🙂

 Moving on…

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II attended a reception held at the Royal Academy in honor of her Diamond Jubilee.  The queen met with various artists, writers, singers, models, and actresses such as Joan Collins from the hit ’80’s show, Dynasty.

On May 21, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the 2012 Chelsea Flower Show in London.  Also in attendance were Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Wessex, His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent and his wife, as well as Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.
