His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Plants a Tree in Memory of the Late Ms.Wangari Maathai.

PoWOn March 27, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales was at Kew Gardens where he planted a tree in memory of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (2004), founder of the Green Belt Movement, environmentalist, political and human rights activist the late Ms. Wangari Maathai.  Ms. Maathai, born in Kenya, died of Ovarian cancer in 2011.

During today’s event the heir to the British throne gave a moving speech regarding the late Ms. Maathai and vowed to end the disgusting practice of “…illegal poaching of wild animals.”

According to the official website for the Prince of Wales:

“The Prince [will] join forces with his son, the Duke of Cambridge, and stage a conference on the illegal poaching of wild animals. The Prince is Patron of the WWF-UK and The Duke is Patron of Tusk Trust, both conservation charities working to preserve endangered species for future generations.

His Royal Highness will host the summit at St James’s Palace in May, gathering together key conservationists and policy decision-makers to find a solution to the problem The Prince described as having reached ‘crisis point’.”

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall Visits a School in Croydon. (VIDEOS)

On March 27, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall was in Croydon to visit the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology.  During her tour of the school the lovely duchess met with “…students and staff, viewed the facilities across the campus and watched part of a performance of ‘Pippin’…”

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Attends the Prince’s Trust & Samsung Celebrate Success Awards. (VIDEO)

On March 26, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, as President of the Prince’s Trust, was at the Odeon Leicester Square in London to attend the “…UK finals of The Prince’s Trust & Samsung Celebrate Success Awards.  The awards recognize the achievements of young people supported by The Trust who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local community.”

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Re-Opens the Highlanders’ Museum.

TheDukeOn March 26, 2013, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was at Fort George in Inverness, Scotland to officially re-open the Highlanders’ Museum.  The duke also visited the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders’ War Memorial Youth Club and participated in meeting as well as dinner held at the at the Speculative Society in Edinburgh.

News Regarding Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex. (VIDEOS)

On March 21, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex was in Cornwall for a one-day visit.

In the morning she visited the Ginsters Factory where she was given a tour of the facility and met with “…representatives of the various charities working with Ginsters.”

Afterward, the Countess opened the “…extension of the Royal Cornwall Showground and attended a council meeting and the annual general meeting of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.”

HRH Prince Harry of Wales to Visit the United States in May 2013.

CaptainWalesBeginning on May 9-15, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales will make an official visit to the United States.  Per the Princeofwales.gov.uk, Prince Harry will:

“…undertake engagements on behalf of charities with which the Prince is closely associated, on behalf also of HM Government, and with a strong central theme of supporting injured servicemen and women from both the UK and US armed forces.

Prince Harry will visit:

  • Washington, DC: an exhibition on Capitol Hill on land mine clearance and the British Ambassador’s Reception. Also, Arlington National Cemetery and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center
  • Denver: The Consul-General’s Reception
  • Colorado Springs: several events at the 2013 Warrior Games
  • New York City: an event to promote the GREAT campaign, a community baseball programme involving a new partnership with the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, a Royal Foundation fundraising event
  • New Jersey: an area badly affected by Hurricane Sandy
  • Connecticut: the Sentebale Polo Cup in Greenwich Further details will be announced in due course.
