On November 19, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium participated in a special ceremony at the Palais de Bruxelles for “…people who received in 2013 a nobility title by Arrêté Royal (royal decree)…” according to the Belgian royal court.  If that makes any sense.   🙂

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium arrived at the Gembloux community center in Gembloux to view the exhibition, Les Oiseaux des Jardins.

According to the Belgian royal court the exhibition was organized by the City of Gembloux and the Ligue Royale Belge pour la Protection des Oiseaux.

On November 18, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the UZ Leuven Children’s Hospital to participate in Stichting Lezen’s Reading Aloud Week.

After reading to various children within the hospital Her Majesty participated in a roundtable discussion with authors as well as illustrators participating in Reading Aloud Week according to the Belgian royal court.

On the morning of Friday, November 15, 2013, King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium and TI&RHs Princess Astrid of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este and Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este attended Te Deum service held at the Cathédrale des Saints-Michel-et-Gudule in Brussels on the occasion of Fête du Roi 2013.

In the afternoon, the royal family arrived at the Palais de la Nation to attend a special ceremony organized by the Chambre des Représentants, the Sénat and the Gouvernement Fédéral, again, on the occasion of Fête du Roi.

On November 14, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium arrived in Diepenbeek in the province of Limburg to visit the Rehabilitation Research Center (REVAL) of the Universiteit Hasselt.  The research center recently received a grant worth 20,000 Euros from the Fondation Roi Baudouin.

On the afternoon of November 14, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the BTC Conference Center-Espace Jacqmotte in Brussels to attend the 10th anniversary of Toolbox.

According to AFP, Toolbox is “…a nonprofit organization [which] supports and improves the management structures of associations in the social sector…”

On the morning of Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium presided over a cultural cooperation meeting between the Communauté Flamande (Flemish community) and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (French community) held at the Palais de Bruxelles.

Eight Flemish and French Belgian artists, each representing their community, participated in the meeting along with the French Minister of Culture, Audiovisual Media, Health and Equal Opportunities, Ms. Fadila Laanan, and the Flemish Minister of Culture, Environment and Nature, Ms. Joke Schauvliege according to AFP.
