On Tuesday, January 21, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived Davos, Switzerland, to attend the 44th Edition of the World Economic Forum.
Yesterday, Their Majesties attended the WEF’s Crystal Awards ceremony which “…honors artists whose important contributions are improving the state of the world.”
This morning Their Majesties arrived at the Berufsfachschule Davos where they visited Refugee Run a:
“…powerful simulation to experience refugees’ daily struggle for survival, hosted by the Crossroads Foundation, and designed by refugees, internally displaced persons and NGOs. After the simulation, refugees, field workers and others will discuss the options for engagement with participants, with a special focus on Syria.”

On January 21, 2014, His Royal Highness Prince Laurent of Belgium attended the 92nd Edition of the European Motor Show for Cars and Motorcycles, organized by the FEBIAC, at the Brussels Expo.
On January 16, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium arrived at the WIELS: Centre d’art Contemporain to view the exhibition entitled, Walter Swennen: So Far, So, Good.
According to the official website for the WIELS the exhibition:
“…combines a careful selection of Walter Swennen’s paintings from the early 1980s until now, as well as smaller works on paper and more unconventional supports. It is the most comprehensive presentation of his work ever, as it consists of over 130 works loaned from 75 public and private collections.
Through the works the exhibition explores two questions which have spurred Swennen on over the past three decades, however much his answers may have varied over that period: what to paint? And how?”
On Thursday, January 16, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium hosted the 2014 New Year’s reception held at the Palais de Bruxelles.
Today’s reception was held for “…permanent representatives of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), military representatives from NATO and SHAPE…” according to the Belgian royal court.
On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium arrived at the Brussels Expo at the Heysel to attend the inauguration of the 92nd European Motor Show for Cars and Motorcycles organized by the FEBIAC.
