On the morning of Wednesday, September 15, 2016, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark officially opened the new Aabybro Skole (school) in Aabybro, Denmark.
On Thursday, September 15, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Horizons Neufs in Louvain-la-Neuve to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The Horizons Neufs is a non-profit organization and care home for adults with learning disabilities.
During today’s visit Her Majesty was given a tour of the home where she also met with staff and residents.
On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco inaugurated the new Albert II tunnel located between the Boulevard du Jardin Exotique and Boulevard Rainier III in Monte-Carlo.
The construction of the new tunnel took four years to complete and will “…reduce traffic by 50% during peak hours…” according to the Palais Princier.
On Tuesday, September 14, 2016, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Dagcentret (Day Center) Strødammens.
According to the Danish royal court the Dagcentret Strødammens provides “…relational and activity programs for adults who are late brain-damaged as a result of a heart attack or a stroke. The day center offers various creative activities including physiotherapy, IT training and more. The goal is to give users a meaningful life and increase their quality of life through social interaction.”
On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended the finals of the 10th Edition of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge held at the Gashouder in Amsterdam.
The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge is the largest annual and international green business plan competition. The winner receives €500,000 to help bring her or his plan to market. The runner-up will receive €200,000.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 13, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Explosieven Opruimingsdienst Defensie (EOD) in Soesterberg, Netherlands.
According to RVD, during today’s visit Her Majesty “…spoke with EOD’er in training and an instructor. They got to see what equipment the EOD used in making harmless and detonation of explosives…”
