HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Opens an Exhibition.

QMIIOn Wednesday, October 7, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark arrived at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen to officially open the exhibition, Eckersberg: En Smuk Løgn.

The exhibition showcases the works of the late Danish artist, Mr. Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg.

Eckersberg: En Smuk Løgn will be open to the public on October 8-January 24, 2016.

HM King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Opens a Children’s Hospital.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands officially opened the newly restored Emma Kinderziekenhuis (children’s hospital) at the Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC) in Amsterdam.

After the opening His Majesty was given a tour of the facility as well as met with staff and patients from various departments within the children’s hospital.

(VIDEO) HM Queen Rania of Jordan Visits a Retirement Home.

On October 6, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Home of the Human Care in Fuhais, Jordan.

According to Petra News during today’s visit Her Majesty:

“…toured the home, which consists of three floors; the ground floor includes the reception area, offices, kitchen, laundry and the nuns’ rooms. Each of the first and second floors include 30 rooms for the elderly, a common room, a dining room, and other multipurpose rooms.

Her Majesty also visited and checked on one of the residents, a 96-year-old woman. She also thanked the team running the home and commended the quality of service and care provided.

The home — run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Cross Congregation of Lebanon — is built on a plot of land donated by Late Father Yousef Ne’mat, whose daughter is currently a nun at the Home. Father Ne’mat also contributed the cost of construction. Services provided by the home are considered of high standard and include nursing, spiritual and human care in addition to entertainment services. Father Hikmat Haddadin contributed a seed fund to start the building of a new extension.”

On Monday, October 5, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco gave a keynote speech during the Nuestro Océano (Our Ocean) Chile 2015 conference held at the Sheraton Miramar Hotel in Viña del Mar, Chile.

According to the Nuestro Océano official website the goal of the two-day conference is to:

“…find solutions to deal with illegal fishing, marine plastic pollution, ocean acidification and its relation to climate change. Moreover, the conference seeks to encourage the creation of marine protected areas as a tool to protect the marine ecosystem.  A pledge was [also made during Monday’s gathering which would] create huge new marine reserves around Easter Island in the Pacific…”

On the morning of October 6, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Princess Henrik of Denmark along with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark, and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the opening of the 2015 Folketingets (Parliament) at Christiansborg Slot in Copenhagen.

HM King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Attends a Celebration in Den Haag.

TheKingWAOn Tuesday, October 6, 2015, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the 50th anniversary of SNV Netherlands Development Organization in Den Haag.

According to AFP News, SNV is an:

“…international not-for-profit development group who aims to alleviate poverty by enabling increased income and employment opportunities and increasing access to basic services. The organization currently works in 38 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.”
