On Monday, February 17, 2014, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a private visit. According to Arab News the purpose of the visit is:
“…[continue to strengthen] Saudi-British relations and prospects of further cooperation. Both sides are expected to tackle international issues, Mideast peace efforts and regional developments, with special emphasis on the Syrian crisis…”
Upon his arrival at Riyadh Airport the prince was warmly welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, and other government officials.
This morning The Prince of Wales held a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, His Royal Highness Saud bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and visited the Janadriya Gardens in Riyadh.
On the evening of Monday, February 17, 2014, Her Imperial Majesty Empress Michiko of Japan attended the AAR Japan charity concert held at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
During last evening’s concert Her Imperial Majesty and hundreds of guests listened as Mr. Kazuki Yamada conducted the Yokohama Sinfonietta Orchestra as they performed works by Mozart and Beethoven to name a few. Famed Japanese pianist, Ms. Hiroko Nakamura, also performed last evening. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Association for Aid Relief Japan.
On the morning of Monday, February 17, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by the Prime Minister of Belgium, Mr. Elio Di Rupo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Didier Reynders, arrived in Berlin, Germany for a one-day official visit.
Upon their arrival at Schloss Bellevue the reigning couple were warmly welcomed by the President of Germany, Mr. Joachim Gauck, and his longtime companion, Ms. Daniela Schadt. After the official welcoming ceremony and the inspection of the guards President Gauck ushered Their Majesties into Schloss Bellevue where they signed the guest book and posed for the media.
In the afternoon, Their Majesties visited the famous Brandenburg Gate, attended a conference in which discussions focused on strengthening economic ties between Belgium and Germany, and held a meeting with the Chancellor of Germany, Ms. Angela Merkel.

On February 17, 2014, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco held a meeting with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Thomas Bach, in Sochi, Russia.
During today’s meeting the sovereign prince and Mr. Bach discussed the upcoming extraordinary IOC session to be held in Monaco in December 2014 according to the Palais Princier.
On Monday, February 17, 2014, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Real Casa de la Moneda-Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre in Madrid to participate in the XVIII Jornadas de Presupuestación, Contabilidad y Control Público.
