Her Imperial Highness Princess Noriko of Takamado Participates in the Traditional Nosai no Gai Ceremony. (VIDEOS)

On July 4, 2014, Her Imperial Highness Princess Noriko of Takamado participated in the traditional Nosai no Gi betrothal ceremony in Tokyo.

According to the newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, the ceremony:

“…marks the official engagement of Princess Noriko, 25, to Mr. Kunimaro Senge, 40, a senior priest at the Izumo Taisha grand shrine in Shimane Prefecture.

The ceremony was conducted at the home of the late Prince Takamodo in the Moto-Akasaka district of Tokyo. Prince Takamado was Emperor Akihito’s cousin.

After the engagement ceremony, Princess Noriko and her mother, Princess Hisako visited Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at their residence in the Imperial Palace and reported to them that Princess Noriko was officially engaged to Mr. Kunimaro Senge.”

PrinceofOranjeOn the evening of July 3, 2014, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the opening of the new Tivoli Vredenburg music center in Utrecht.

According to RVD, the new building contains “…five halls for classical, pop, jazz and dance…”

Members of the British Royal Family Attend the Thistle Service at St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. (VIDEO)

On Thursday, July 3, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, and His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge attended the Thistle Service at St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.

According to the British royal court:

“…The Order of the Thistle represents the highest honor in Scotland. It is second only in precedence in the UK to the Order of the Garter.

The Order honors Scottish men and women who have held public office or who have contributed in a particular way to national life.”
