TIMs Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan Welcome French President, François Hollande, to Tokyo. (VIDEOS)

On Friday, June 7, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan officially welcomed the president of France, Mr. François Hollande, and his partner, Ms. Valerie Trierweiler, to Tokyo.

After an official welcoming ceremony at the Imperial Palace the emperor and empress hosted a gala dinner in the evening on honor of President Hollande visit to Tokyo, Japan.

The president and his delegation will remain in Japan for the next three days where they will met with various Japanese government leaders and businessmen.  The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and France as well as to “…deepen their cooperation on nuclear technology and to discuss joint development of military equipment, vowing to raise the tenor of their partnership.”

KungahusetOn June 6, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip, and Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine and her fiancé, Mr. Christopher O’Neill, celebrated National Day at Skasen.

Earlier in the day, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel along with Princess Estelle inaugurated the “…exhibition, Open Palace, at the royal palace in Stockholm.”

Princess Anne, Princess RoyalHer Royal Highness The Princess Royal arrived in Wadebridge, Cornwall this afternoon to attend the opening of the 2013 Royal Cornwall Agricultural Show.  After the opening, the princess, as president, attended the “…annual general meeting Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth…” according to the British royal court.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Visits Worcestershire. (VIDEOS)

On June 6, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales arrived in Worcestershire for a one-day visit.  This morning the heir to the British throne, as Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment, presented “…new colours to all four Battalions of the Regiment…” during a ceremony held at the Sixways Stadium.

Afterward, The Prince of Wales toured the Yamazaki Mazak factory where he met with staff and apprentices.  During his visit, the prince “…was given a demonstration of a Yamazaki Mazak machine tool making parts for an artificial leg. The prince also unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit.”

Soon, the prince was off to visit the legendary Morgan Motor Company in Malvern, Worcestershire.  Whilst there The Prince of Wales took a test drive around the grounds of the company and met with staff.

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias Preside Over the 2013 Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura. (VIDEO)

On June 6, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Monasterio de San Salvador de Leyre in Navarra, Spain, to preside over the 2013 Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura.  The recipient of the prize was Mr. Daniel Innerarity, a Spanish writer and philosopher. The prize of 25,000 Euros is financed by the Cultural Department of the Government of Navarra.

Afterward, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Olloki, a neighborhood in Navarra, to tour the new facilities of the pharmaceutical firm, Cinfa.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Has Been Admitted to the Hospital.

Per a Buckingham Palace spokesman:

“The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to the London Clinic for an exploratory operation following abdominal investigations. The Duke of Edinburgh is expected to remain in the London Clinic for two weeks.”

The 91-year-old duke was admitted to the hospital after attending today’s garden party. According to BBC journalist, Mr. Peter Hunt, The Duke of Edinburgh “…was driven to the London Clinic in a car and walked in unaided. His impending surgery isn’t thought to be related to his recent bladder problems or blocked coronary artery.”
