His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain seems to be doing better these days after having a second operation on his right hip last week. And, since he is feeling groovy the old king held another audience this afternoon. This time he met with the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Pascual Sala, at Zarzuela Palace. Afterward, the old king received cute gold medal from representatives of the Federación Internacional del Automóvil.
Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain attended “… the Oath of Allegiance of the new Royal Guards at El Pardo Palace…” The queen was accompanied by the Admiral General, Mr. Fernando Sánchez and the Secretary of State for Defense, Mr. Pedro Argüelles to name a few.
Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias attended the inauguration of the new headquarters for the Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (MUNCYT) (National Museum of Science and Technology) on May 4, 2012.
The prince and princess were given a private tour of the new building by the director of the Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, Mr. Ramón Núñez.

On May 4, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport via private jet for a brief visit to Porto, Portugal.
The purpose of their visit to the lovely country is to participate in an enthronement ceremony with the Confraria do Vinho do Porto(Port Wine Brotherhood). Confused about what this brotherhood and ceremony is all about? Click here to learn more.

It seems that His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales’s 1994 Virage Volente Aston Martin is about to be auctioned on May 19, 2012 via Bonhams UK. The car, with a 6.3 liter engine and only 33,960 miles on it, has a “… pre-auction estimated value of $81,000 – $110,00…”
Now, the car is okay looking, but I would not buy a ’90s Aston Martin. In my opinion, a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage convertible is the way to go. 🙂

On May 3, 2012, Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan along with their daughter, Princess Aiko, arrived at the “… JR Nasushiobara Station in the Tochigi Prefecture…” where they will “…spend the latter half of the Golden Week holiday period at the local Nasu Imperial Villa.”
And, finally, on Tuesday, May 2, 2012, the Imperial Household Agency announced that Their Imperial Majesties played tennis together for roughly a half an hour. Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko “… teamed up to play doubles against agency staff members…the emperor has also been playing table tennis as part of his rehab exercises.”
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh were at Windsor Castle this afternoon to present new colours to “…the 1st Battalion and No. 7 Company the Coldstream Guards…”
Meanwhile, the BBC news is reporting that lovely British National Anthem has been “…rewritten in honor of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.” The new lyrics were written by Mr. Roger Brooks.

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias held audiences with representatives from the Fundación César Egido Serrano and the Museo de la Palabra, members of the Red Estatal de Mujeres con Discapacidad (REDM), and representatives from the Siena Group as well as the winners of the Premios Magisterio a los Protagonistas de la Educación.
