HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Tests Negative for COVID-19 and Enjoys a Tennis Match in Monte-Carlo with His Cousin.

After being tested positive for COVID-19 and asymptomatic last week His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco has tested negative several times since he was originally diagnosed with the virus. As a result, on Sunday, April 17 his physicians gave the sovereign prince the green light to resume his regular activities.

So, that same day Prince Albert II accompanied by his cousin, Miss Mélanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy, attended the 2022 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters Final between Mr. Stefano Tsitsipas and Alejandro Fokina at the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

After an exciting match, Prince Albert II presented the trophy to the winner, Mr. Stefano Tsitsipas, while Miss de Massey presented the silver plaque to Mr. Alejandro Fokina.

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco Sends an Easter Message.

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco wished everyone a very “…Happy Easter…” on her personal Instagram page. It’s been some time since royal watchers have seen the lovely princess due her to convalescence in a Swiss clinic and then a recent return to the Principality. Nonetheless, the princess looks happy, healthy, and calm. Wishing her much love, light and bright blessings!

Meanwhile, the Palais Princier de Monaco also released Easter photos of the princely family. The additional images were taken in the back garden of the Palais Princier as well as in Palatine chapel where the family attended an Easter service presided over by the Chaplain of the Palais Princier, Father Caesar Penzo.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Tests Positive for COVID-19.

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, the Palais Princier de Monaco announced that His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second time since the pandemic began that the sovereign prince has had the virus. In March 2020 Prince Albert II was diagnosed with COVID-19. He was the first of several heads-of-state in Europe to test positive.

In a press release the Palais Princier noted that the sovereign prince is:

Asymptomatic at this time, his state of health inspires absolutely no concern. He works remotely, in permanent contact with the members of his cabinet, his government as well as with his close collaborators. This period of isolation will adapt to the health rules in force. 

This evening, His Serene Highness was due to attend the 23rd Annual Stars of Stony Brook Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The sovereign prince is being recognized for his dedication to ocean conservation and sustainability.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Inaugurates the New Albert I Courtyard at CHPG.

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco inaugurated the Albert I courtyard at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace in Monaco in Fontvieille, Monaco.

During today’s event, the sovereign prince unveiled a plaque and toured a photo exhibit, which displays the history of the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace, along the courtyard.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco to be Honored During the Upcoming Stars of Stony Brook Gala in New York City.

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco will be honored during the 23rd Annual Stars of Stony Brook Gala to be held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The sovereign prince is being recognized for his dedication to ocean conservation and sustainability.

In 1992, Prince Albert II accompanied by his late father, His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III, attended the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeriro. Whilst there, the sovereign prince addressed global environmental problems and provided solutions to the issue. In 2006, the Prince Albert II led an Arctic expedition, becoming the first incumbent head of state to have reached the North Pole. That same year, he launched the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco (FPA) to limit the effects of climate change, promote renewable energy, preserve biodiversity and improve universal access to clean water. Since it was founded, the FPA has awarded over $1 billion in philanthropy to a number of worthy environmental organizations.

Today, Prince Albert II guides sustainable policies implemented by his government for the principality to be carbon neutral by 2050. The sovereign prince has been honored by organizations around the world for his contributions and actions in favor of protecting the environment. A five-time Olympian in bobsleigh, the sovereign prince is also a current member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the chair of the IOC Sustainable and Legacy Commission.

Established in 2000, the Stars of Stony Brook Gala has raised more than $64 million for scholarships and programs of academic and clinical excellence. Proceeds from the April 13 gala will be dedicated entirely to student scholarships. This year’s gala honorees are stars in the arenas of fighting climate change and computer science and electrical engineering.

On March 24, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco celebrated the 10th anniversary of Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting held at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the conference, Sea & the City: Pathways for Coastal Resilience, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

During yesterday’s conference discussions focused on the stake in the coastal zone, identifying tools for assessing vulnerabilities, and promoting solutions. According to a press release, the overall goal was to focus on ways to:

“…build on the work of the conveners and partners, particularly focusing on nature-based solutions, as no-regret options. Recommendations from the conference will be used by governments, industry, and civil society to inform improved decision making and take collective action to protect and enhance resilience of coastal and marine eco-systems to climate change to benefit societies and economies around the world.”

The conference was assembled under the presidency of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and organized by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco in collaboration with the Stimson Center Environmental Security Program and the Ocean & Climate Platform.
