His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Attends the 2022 Sun Valley Economic Forum.

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan participated 2022 Sun Valley Economic Forum.
 
On the sidelines of the forum, His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II participated in meetings with CEOs and representatives from various major international and US companies.
Discussions focused on a myriad of topics such as investment opportunities in Jordan, which recently launched Economic Modernization Vision, in addition to the potential for cooperation between international companies and the local private sector to fullfil this vision over the next decade, in partnership with the Jordanian government.
 
Meetings were also held with executives from international companies that work in e-commerce, the textile industry, transport and the automotive industry, AI, and filmmaking, which are part of the promising sectors highlighted in the economic vision under growth drivers.

Discussions also covered the global ramifications of the Ukraine crisis on food and energy security, and the importance of working collectively to counter their impact on the global economy.
 
The annual forum is held with the participation of international and US political, economic, and media leaders to discuss global political and economic developments and their implications.

Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II of Jordan is Engaged! UPDATED: With Detailed Information about Mr. Jameel “Jimmy” Alexander Thermiotis.

On the morning of Wednesday, July 6, 2022, the Royal Hashemite Court announced the engagement of Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II of Jordan to Mr. Jameel “Jimmy” Alexander Thermiotis.

On Tuesday, July 2, the couple announced their engagement to their families including Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II of Jordan, and Her Royal Highness Princess Salma bint Abdullah II of Jordan, and members of Mr. Thermiotis’ family.
 

After the announcement was made, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan released a statement:

“Congratulations my dearest Iman; your smile has always been a gift of love that I’ve cherished since the day you were born. I wish you and Jameel a life filled with love and laughter!”

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan also made a statement regarding his sister’s engagement:

“Warmest congratulations to my dear sister Iman and to her fiancé Jameel on their engagement. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.”

Born on September 27, 1996, in Amman, Jordan, Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II of Jordan is the eldest daughter of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah II of Jordan.

At this time, there is little information about Mr. Thermiotis. According to the newspapers, Al Arabiya and the Jordan Times, Mr. Thermiotis was born in 1994 in Caracas, Venezuela. He is of Greek and Hispanic descent.

Mr. Jameel (Jimmy) Alexander Thermiotis is the Partner/Co-Founder of Outbound Ventures LLC, a private equity and venture capital firm in New York City, New York.

Established in 2015, Outbound Ventures LLC is a finance company with “…an estimated 5 employees. Their management level is C-Level. With a revenue of $1.1 million.

In 2016, Mr. Jameel “Jimmy” Alexander Thermiotis graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business.

After graduating from university, Mr. Thermiotis, worked at DPM, an asset management firm based in New York City, from 2016-2018.

From 2018-2020, Mr. Thermiotis was employed with the company, AMARLA, as the Head of Business Development with its headquarters in Athens, Greece. The company is one of the largest boutique retailers operating in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Thermiotis is the son of Ms. Corina Hernández Pérez Rendiles and Mr. George Alexander Thermiotis Filesari of Caracas, Venezuela. He has two siblings, Alejandro and Alexia.

(VIDEO) Members of the Jordanian Royal Family Celebrate 76 Years of Independence.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan attended an official ceremony marking Jordan’s 76th Independence Day held at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman.

The ceremony was also attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Prince Hasham bin Abdullah II, Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein as well as a number of Royal family members, senior officials and officers, and members of the diplomatic corps.

According to the Hashemite Royal Court during yesterday’s celebrations, His Majesty King Abdullah II bestowed “…royal medals on a number of distinguished Jordanian institutions and individuals, in appreciation of their services for the country and its people.”

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Visits the Jordan River Designs Showroom.

On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Jordan River Designs Showroom in Amman. The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the Jordan River Foundation’s (JRF) social enterprises, including the latest Jordan River Designs and Al Karma Kitchen projects.

During Her Majesty’s meeting with the JRF Director-General, Ms. Enaam Barrishi and other staff members, Her Majesty Queen Rania received a briefing on the achievements and future plans of Jordan River Designs and Al Karma Kitchen, including its efforts to begin exporting food items to regional markets abroad, and expand the number of female beneficiaries employed by these projects. 

Her Majesty also met with women working in Al Karma Kitchen, an empowerment initiative that produces and sells a variety of food items prepared by local community women. Her Majesty expressed her admiration for the women’s hard work as they shared their success stories and the challenges they have met along the way. 

“It makes me so happy to hear people say that your food is just as good as homemade food and even better,” Her Majesty told the women. “That’s just proof that you put your heart into your work!” She added.  

Her Majesty Queen Rania also noted that:

“…each beneficiary represents a model of the successful and hardworking Jordanian woman who supports her family and insists on being part of society’s fabric of productive women. I would like you to be just as proud of yourselves as I am of you, and of everything you do for your families. Your success paves the way for the empowerment of many other women in Jordan..”

Through its series of social enterprises, the Jordan River Foundation hopes to revive traditional cooking and Bedouin-inspired arts and crafts. The foundation currently provides thousands of Jordanian women with livelihoods and a stable source of income, and in 2021 alone it managed to create over 660 employment opportunities through initiatives like Al Karma Kitchen and Jordan River Designs.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Meets with President Joseph R. Biden at the White House.

On Friday, May 13, 2022, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan met with the President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden, at the White House in Washington, D.C. reaffirming ties of friendship and the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting His Majesty The King expressed appreciation for the United States’ ongoing support for Jordan across all sectors, to enable the Kingdom of Jordan to continue its economic development endeavors and its efforts toward regional stability.

Other issues discussed included the latest regional and international developments including the crisis in Ukraine and its impact on international peace and security, the global economy, ways to deepen Jordanian-US ties and bolsterer economic and development cooperation, especially through regional integration in infrastructure, energy, water, and climate projects, so that Jordan functions as a hub for this cooperation and investment, and regional as well as international efforts to fight terrorism and reach political solutions to regional crises.

The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation to continue bolstering the historical partnership between Jordan and the United States.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Hosts an Iftar at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym al-Ali of Jordan, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal of Jordan, Her Royal Highness Princess Wijdan of Jordan along with several other Jordanian princesses, hosted an Iftar for accomplished young women held at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman.

HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan Visits the King Hussein Cancer Center.

On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan visited the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan.

The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) was established in 2001, honorably bearing the name of His Majesty the late King Hussein of Jordan. The KHCC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as a disease-specific Cancer center, making it the first center in the developing world and only the sixth worldwide to earn such a distinction.

KHCC is led by the Director-General, Dr. Asem Mansour, and the Medical Director and Deputy Director-General of the KHCC, Dr. Hikmat Abdel Razeq.

According to the Royal Hashemite Court, Crown Prince Al Hussein toured the:

“…KHCC’s pediatrics facilities, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, commending the efforts of the KHCC’s staff, and the intensive care they provide to Cancer patients.

During the tour, the Crown Prince listened to a briefing by Princess Ghida, who noted that the center has become the first destination for cancer patients in the Middle East.

KHCC’s CEO and Director-General, Dr. Asem Mansour, noted that the center receives around 400 new cancer cases among children annually and hosts nearly 90 percent of cancer pediatric patients in Jordan.

Dr. Mansour added that the center has a 352-bed capacity and receives 14,000 inpatients annually, and 250,000 cases at outpatient clinics, noting that it includes over 300 specialized doctors and 1,000 nurses.

Two floors at the KHCC have been designated for child patients, with specialized clinics, intensive care units, and chemotherapy facilities, in addition to the ‘Heroes Cave’ child waiting area, which was refurbished upon Crown Prince Al Hussein’s request.
