‘The Prince and the Blogger: A Love Story’ An Article from Forbes Magazine

Here is an interesting article from the American magazine, Forbes. The journalist, Kai Falkenberg, writes about the never-ending saga between H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the cranky old man from Santa Barbara, CA who has wasted his entire golden years whining about the sovereign prince of Monaco. Ms. Falkenberg points out that the cranky old man’s purpose in life is to destroy Prince Albert as well as to “…uncover the rot at the center of the principality.”

Overall it’s a good piece by Ms. Falkenberg; moreover, commentary by the cranky old man within the article only confirms to everyone on planet Earth that he’s a giant buffoon.

H.R.H. Prince Laurent of Belgium Continues to Behave like a Giant Douche

The world’s biggest pain in the okole, H.R.H. Prince Laurent of Belgium, continues to embarrass himself on an international level.

So what did he do this time?  During the Imperial wedding festivities in Germany last month the Belgian prince, who looks like Peter Griffin from the show Family Guy, had a hissy fit prior to and during the charity concert held at the Opera House in Berlin. According to onlookers, the prince refused to walk the red carpet in front of the Opera House like everyone else.

Excusez-moi! Je suis le Prince Laurent de Belgique! Je mérite un meilleur siège!

Arriving 32 minutes late in he sped past attendees in his jet black Porsche and  then proceeded to park in handicapped zone.  After barely making it up the short flight of stairs he was none too pleased with his seating assignment inside the Opera House. So he complained like a baby, but alas he didn’t get his way.

‘Albert et Charlène: Mariage Princier à Monaco’ A New Book About the Princely Couple

For those who simply just cannot get enough of Monaco’s new princely couple, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, well there is good news.  A new book is about to be released entitled, Albert et Charlène: Un Marriage Princier.

Within the book there will be loads of photos along with commentary; moreover, H.S.H. Prince Albert II decided to write a preface for the book in which he states:

The union of the people and the princes of Monaco has always been the guarantor of the continuity of the Principality.  The response by the Monégasques people to the princess has been extraordinary [hmm].  Now, a new page in the history of our country has begun a new chapter in Monaco etc, etc, etc. (source)

The release date for Albert et Charlène: Un Mariage Princier is October 6, 2011.  Where can you find this book in the U.S.?  No idea.  Though you could fly to the south of France then shuffle your way to Monaco, find a bookstore, and I guarantee it will be there.   🙂

T.S.H.s Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the International Year of Forests Gala Charity Ball in Geneva, Switzerland

On September 3, 2011, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the International Year of Forests in honor of the 50th anniversary of the WWF Conservation in Geneva, Switzerland.  Over 300 people attended the event including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, WWF president Andrew Hoffman, and the mayor of Geneva Pierre Maudet to name a few.

During the gala event there was a “… charity auction conducted by Simon de Pury, Chief Auctioneer from Phillips de Pury & Co.”   One of the prizes from the auction included a private guided tour of the Palais Princier de Monaco.  The money raised during Saturday night’s event  went directly to various conservation protection causes around the world.

According to various sources, H.S.H. Princess Charlene had a great time at the charity event. Apparently she was seen happily mingling as well as conversing with guests — in French — during the evening.  Furthermore, those who attended the charity event noticed that H.S.H. Prince Albert II looked incredibly happy with his lovely wife (and vice versa) whereupon he kissed, smiled at as well as snuggled with the princess throughout the evening.  After a two-minute PDA break, H.S.H. Prince Albert II was called on stage whereupon he gave a speech about conservation and the environment:

I have devoted much of my energy and my time to the preservation of our planet’s biodiversity and climate… I do it in all international fora where I have to express myself and to defend causes that I believe. Monaco is also the resolute action of my government. And I also do through my personal foundation I created in 2006, and is now engaged in more than one hundred projects throughout the world.

Brilliant!
