On December 18, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje visited the Stichting Move (Foundation Move) in Utrecht. The Stichting Move “… encourages students and young people from Utrecht, Leiden, Delft and Amsterdam to become socially involved in their district … ” according to RVD.
Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands along with His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje, Princess Margriet, and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven hosted a luncheon/reception for the medal winners from the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games on December 18, 2012.
Held at the Paleis op de Dam in Amsterdam today’s reception also celebrated the:
“… 100th anniversary of the Dutch Olympic Committee. In addition to the medal winners present at today’s luncheon there are also representatives from the NOC, NSF and National Paralympic Committee.”
His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias held audiences at Palacio de La Zarzuela with representatives from the Asociación de Empresarios Emprendedores de la Comunidad de Madrid (ASECAM), board members from the Asociación y del Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos de España, and representatives from the Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Conservas de Pescados y Mariscos (ANFACO-CECOPESCA).
The prince also met with “… first year students of the Bachelor of Science…” from the Universidad de Jaén.
On December, 16, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards held at ExCel in London. Also in attendance was Ms. Zara Philips, daughter of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and granddaughter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

On Monday, December 17, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the meeting of the governing board of the Consejo del Real Patronato Sobre Discapacidad at Palacio de La Zarzuela. Her Majesty is Honorary President of this organization.
His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium attended the 84th Trophée National du Mérite Sportif (National Sports Merit Award) held at the Hôtel de Ville de Bruxelles on December 17, 2012. During the ceremony the prince presented the merit award to Belgian sailor, Ms. Evi Van Acker.
