Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain visited the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología in Madrid on February 7, 2013.  The purpose of her visit was to meet with members of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).

After listening to a presentation Her Majesty was given a tour of the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología facility.

Princess Anne, Princess RoyalOn February 7, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal was in Northampton to participate in the “…dedication of a memorial to Northamptonshire’s fallen firefighters…” at Brixworth Country Park.

The princess also visited the new Criminal Justice Centre and opened the new Hankook Tyres Warehouse in Daventry.

His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias Participates in a Farewell Ceremony. (VIDEOS)

On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias traveled to the Base Naval de Rota in the Cádiz province to participate in the farewell ceremony of the newly decommissioned aircraft carrier, Príncipe de Asturias.

According to the Spanish royal court during today’s ceremony the prince gave a speech.  Here is what he had to say:

“Today is a special day for all of us and especially for me as Prince of Asturias. On this last visit aboard the ship there is pride and excitement yet sadness, but also the satisfaction.  Pride in being a member of our Armed Forces and to wear the uniforms and to be part of this brilliant chapter in the history Spanish Navy now ends.  It is emotional to dismiss our flagship and inevitably some sadness in saying goodbye to a ship that takes a beloved part of each of us. “

I also want to pay tribute to the many Spanish who have done their duty, that against all odds with total dedication, forward, with effort, with confidence, that have made his life a commitment with the honor and service to the nation, and they are an example that we should always look to honor and proudly pronounce the name of Spain.”

News Regarding Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

CCOn February 6, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall met with “…finalists and past winners of ‘UK New Zealander of the Year’ and ‘UK Australian of the Year’ at Clarence House…” according to the official website for The Prince of Wales.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Visits the VDL ETG Group in Eindhoven. (VIDEO)

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Eindhoven on February 6, 2013, to visit the company, VDL ETG Group.

According to RVD:

“The VDL Group operates in the sector of supply includes modules for the semiconductor industry, bus manufacturer and supplier of various end products such as packaging. The products that the VDL Group makes relate to metal, plastic and engineering. ”

Upon his arrival at VDL ETG in Eindhoven the Prince Willem-Alexander was warmly greeted by representatives of VDL ETG then given a tour of the facility.  During his visit he was “…informed about the history of the family business and the current position of the company which currently employs 9,000 individuals operating in 18 countries.”  The prince also met with various employees in which he “…talked to them about their work.”
