On April 7, 2013, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan welcomed the Governor-General of New Zealand, Mr. Jerry Mateparae and his wife, Janine, to the royal offices at Al-Hummer in Amman.

After the inspection of the royal guards His Majesty and Governor-General Mateparae, accompanied by senior Jordanian and New Zealand officials, participated in meeting.  The discussions focused on “…bilateral relations and the crisis in Syria…”

In the evening, Their Majesties hosted a gala dinner in honor of Governor-General Mateparae and his wife’s three-day official visit to Jordan.

TheRoyalCorrespondent HawaiiCOAOn the evening of April 6, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoa of Hawai’i attended the 2013 Merrie Monarch hula competition held at the Edith Kanaka‘ole stadium in Hilo, Hawai’i.

During last night’s festivities the lovely princess donated $2,000 to each participating kumu hula, and $25,000 to the Merrie Monarch Festival and its president, Luana Kawelu.

BeatrixOn March 7, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands held an audience with the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, and his wife, at Huis ten Bosch in Den Haag.  Mr. Ban Ki-moon is currently in the Netherlands to participate in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons conference.

HRH Infanta Cristina of Spain’s Court Date Temporarily Suspended. Plus, Other News. (VIDEOS)

SARCristina_hrThe judge presiding over the Instituto Nóos case, José Castro, has announced that he has temporarily suspended the summons of Infanta Cristina of Spain to appear before the court in Palma de Mallorca.  The original date, April 27, 2013, was postponed in order to give the courts time to consider the appeal filed by the Infanta’s attorneys.  In a statement, Judge José Castro said, “Once a decision has been given on the appeal, if its content so allows a new date will be set…”

HM Queen Margrethe of DenmarkOn April 5, 2013, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark along with the President of Finland, Mr. Sauli Niinistö, and his delegation took a boat tour around lovely Copenhagen Harbor.  During the tour President Niinistö was informed about:

“…some of Copenhagen’s solutions for sustainable development, including water purification and waste. In addition, the Crown Prince and the President also looked at Middelgrunden Wind Farm and Amager Resource Center and new sustainable buildings by the UN low energy building and the district of North Harbor.”

In the evening, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte attended a dinner at Moltke’s Palace hosted by President Niinistö and his wife, First Lady Jenni Elina Haukio.
