The purpose of today’s gathering was to share recent public health findings and research regarding Alzheimer’s Disease.
Meanwhile, in Las Tablas, a neighborhood in Madrid, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias attended the inauguration of the new center for Fundación APROCOR on land donated by the city of Madrid. APROCOR is a foundation dedicated to the services designed to better the quality of life of individuals with mental disabilities and their families.
Prior to his boring meeting with His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain former President of the United States, Mr. Bill Clinton, along with His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the 2013 Laureate Summit on Youth and Jobs in Europe, organized by the Laureate International Universities and Universidad Europea de Madrid, held at the Villaviciosa de Odón. The focus of today’s summit was to “…discuss strategies required to overcome the hardships of today’s economy…” Sounds like fun.
During today’s important meeting Prince Felipe gave a speech about how it is the government and public institutions responsibility to “…implement policies which favor the creation of stable employment…”
On May 21, 2013, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain had the supreme honor in meeting with the former President of the United States of America, the super awesome Mr. Bill Clinton (aka Bubba), at Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid. Former President Bill Clinton, as Honorary Chancellor of Laureate International Universities, is currently in Madrid to participate in the Laureate Summit on Youth and Jobs in Europe.
Anyway, during His Majesty’s meeting with the former President of the United States discussions focused on issues concerning Spain’s crappy economy, the European Union and other world issues.
Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan arrived at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman this afternoon to attend the opening of the special exhibition, 70 Years of Contemporary Jordanian Fine Arts.
According to the official website for the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts this exhibition:
“…showcase[s] over 200 works created by 195 Jordanian artists from different generations.
Boasting a historical documentation of the Jordanian artistic heritage throughout the years, the collection on display manifests the efforts made by the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts to compile a comprehensive visual representation of Jordan’s rich visual art history.
This exhibition is Jordan’s biggest to date, effectively reflecting the gallery’s role as a patron of the arts and as a reference source for those wishing to know more about Jordanian artists.
The works on display will also be featured in a catalogue that documents biographical information about their creators. The book will also include a chronological history of the Jordanian art movement in its various phases, while reflecting the role played by the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts as a promoter and patron of the arts.”

In other news, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan was in Salt this afternoon to officially open the “…Saltos Hotel which is part of the Salt Vocational Training Center…” according to Petra News. During today’s event the heir to the Jordanian throne toured the facility, met with staff, students and was “…briefed on the training program and its objectives…”
Ah, it is so nice to see her again! This morning Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands arrived at the Villa Mondriaan in Winterswijk to attend the opening of the museum and its exhibition entitled, Where it All Started.
The exhibition displays various works highlighting the early years of famed Dutch artist the late Mr. Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan, Jr. (aka Piet Mondrian).
