On June 24, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco to participate in the closing session of the 4th Edition of the Monaco Blue Initiative. The theme of this year’s two-day conference is Making the Best of Marine Resources: Ecological and Economic Challenges.
Those who participated in the conference, which included His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, analyzed the “… current status of large predators, notably bluefin tuna and sharks, and discussed the role of MPAs in their preservation in the light of sustainable management of marine natural resources…” according to the official website for the Monaco Blue Initiative.
“…the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and theMusée Océanographique de Monaco.Members meet annually to discuss the current global challenges of ocean protection and preservation. The Monaco Blue Initiative is now an effective platform for communication and exchange between the different sectors of activity and aims to analyze and put forward the possible synergies between the protection of marine ecosystems and socio-economic development.”
On the evening of June 23, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover, and Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco watched from the balcony of the Palais Princier the 2013Fête de la Saint-Jean (Feast of St. John the Baptist) celebrations.

On June 23, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan arrived at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto to attend the opening ceremony of the 11th World Congress of Biological Psychiatry.
This morning Their Imperial Majesties visited the Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art in Kyoto. Afterward, the emperor and empress travelled to Osaka where they visited the Osaka Prefecture Environmental Learning Center Eco Museum of Osaka and in the evening they toured a manufacturing company.
On Sunday, June 23, 2013, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan welcomed the President of France, Mr. François Hollande and his partner, Ms.Valérie Trierweiler, to Al-Hummar Palace in Amman, Jordan. The purpose of President Hollande’s visit to Jordan is to “…enhance bilateral cooperation and developments in the Middle East” according to Petra News.
After the traditional welcoming ceremony and the inspection of the guard His Majesty and President Hollande held a meeting to discuss various issues including the Syrian crisis.
His Majesty also attended the 50th anniversary of the Amman Chamber of Industry celebrations this afternoon in Amman. Petra News notes that His Majesty “…honored [the] former chairman and board of directors for their efforts and contributions to develop Jordanian industry.”
On June 22, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco accompanied Mr. Pierre Casiraghi attended the 150th anniversary of the Société des Bains de Mer and its “…relationship with 150 Grands Crus wines of Bordeaux…” celebrations in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.
