On Monday, November 4, 2013, the Spanish royal court announced that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain will have another operation on November 21, 2013, at Hospital Quirón in Madrid.
According to the Spanish news agency, EFE, His Majesty will:
“…undergo the second surgical procedure needed to implant a permanent prosthesis in his left hip. Dr. Miguel Cabanela, who removed the monarch’s infected left hip prosthesis on Sept. 24, will perform the operation…”
On Monday, November 4, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands swore in Ms. Lucille Andrea George-Wout as the new governor of Curaçao at Paleis Nooreinde in Den Haag.
According to the newspaper, Curaçao Chronicle, Ms. George-Wout is:
“…the first female governor of the island and was the first female president of the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles. She is characterized as the ‘Iron Woman’ of Curaçao for her strong character and no-nonsense attitude.”
On Sunday, November 3, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan participated in the “…opening of the First Ordinary Session of the 17th Parliament…” in Amman according to Petra News.
During today’s opening His Majesty gave a speech, and according the Associated Press, he:
“…told parliament’s opening session that he will press ahead with plans to amend election laws the opposition says favor pro-palace candidates and overhaul a public sector widely seen as rife with corruption and nepotism.
The king called the reforms a ‘white revolution’ – a term royal aides say signifies a peaceful change rather than one of turmoil like those brought by the Arab Spring, which saw four regional leaders deposed in uprisings.”
On Sunday, November 3, 2013, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan participated in the Order of Culture medal ceremony held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
During the ceremony the 79-year-old emperor presented the prestigious medal to five recipients. They are: Mr. Tasuku Honjo, Mr. Seikaku Takagi, Mr. Shunichi Iwasaki, Mr. Susumu Nakanishi, and Mr. Ken Takakura.
On Saturday, November 2, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales arrived at the Twickenham Stadium in London to attend the QB International England vs Australia rugby match.
