On January 30, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Maassluis to officially open the Lely Greenest Innovation Campus.
According to RVD, the Lely Campus:
“…consists of the international headquarters of the Lely Group and two production sites. At these locations more than 800 employees working on innovative and future-oriented solutions for the agricultural sector.”
During today’s event Her Majesty signed a glass plaque commemorating today’s opening as well as participated in a roundtable discussion on the future of dairy-farming.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princes Charlene of Monaco arrived at the Hôtel Métropole in Monte-Carlo to attend the “…presentation of athletes [to the media] participating in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi…”
On January 28, 2014, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco presented the 2014 Prince’s Prize for Innovative Philanthropy to the CEO of the FB Heron Foundation, Ms. Clara Miller, in Monaco.
According to a press release the FB Heron Foundation “…seeks to fund companies in the United States that create high-quality jobs for people working to escape poverty, while also promoting systemic economic changes to benefit low-income workers.”
On January 28, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias attended the inauguration of the Palmetum de Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
According to Casa Real, the Palmetum de Santa Cruz de Tenerife is “…a botanical garden, located on a former landfill, contains 1,400 different plant species of which five hundred are Palm trees from around the world.”
On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands arrived at the University of Utrecht to attend the 9th Meeting of In Vrijheid Verbonden (Liberty Connected).
According to RVD, In Vrijheid Verbonden is a “…group of people working together from different religions [Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam] and philosophies.”
Recently, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was in Paris, France to attend the Société de Géographie award ceremony held at the Embassy of Monaco. During the ceremony the sovereign prince presented the 2013 Prix des Sciences de la Mer Albert I to Mr. François Bellac.
