On Monday, September 23, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden, with the Prince Daniel’s Fellowship, visited Polhemskolan and Lunds Universitet.  The purpose of Prince Daniel’s Fellowship is to:

“…inspire young people to become entrepreneurs, and to support a number of companies through mentoring. 

Prince Daniel’s Fellowship has brought together a group of successful entrepreneurs and managers to form a council of experts who will visit upper secondary schools, universities and university colleges in Sweden to inspire young people and to talk about their experiences as entrepreneurs.” 

Anyway, according to the Swedish royal court, the prince, accompanied by several well-known entrepreneurs, participated in a roundtable discussion with several students from Polhemskolan to discuss entrepreneurship.  After a nice luncheon, Prince Daniel arrived at Lunds Universitet to participate in a seminar, again with experts and well-known entrepreneurs, to discuss their “…experiences of entrepreneurship…”

On September 13, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden gathered in the Rikssalen at the royal palace in Stockholm to attend the opening of the special exhibition, 40 År På Tronen: 40 År för Sverige.

The exhibition tells the story of His Majesty’s 40 years as the king of Sweden and Head of State via images as well as objects “…in the palace’s Hall of State and the magnificent Royal Apartments” according to the Swedish royal court.

Anyway, during today’s opening Her Royal Highness Princess Christina of Sweden gave a lovely speech and then declared the exhibition open.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden arrived at the Riksdagen in Stockholm to attend the seminar entitled, The EU As A Global Actor for Peace, Democracy and Freedom: Experience and Vision, in memory of the late Ms. Anna Lindh, the former Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs who was viciously attacked (she was stabbed numerous times in the chest and stomach) on September 10, 2003, while shopping at a department store in Stockholm.  The following day Ms. Lindh passed away at the age of 46.

On Sunday, September 8, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine of Sweden arrived at the Engelska Kyrkan in Stockholm to attend a memorial service for Her Royal Highness the late Princess Lilian of Sweden, The Duchess of Halland.

The Welsh-born princess, who was married to His Royal Highness the late Prince Bertil of Sweden, passed away at the age of 97 on March 10, 2013.

On the evening of September 5, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived at the Stockholm Stadhus to attend the 2013 Stockholm Water Prize Award Ceremony.

During last evening’s gala event His Majesty presented the prize to Dr. Peter Morgan for “…his life-long work to protect the health and lives of millions of people through improved water and sanitation technologies…” according to the newspaper, The Herald.

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden welcomed President Barack Obama to the royal palace in Stockholm this morning.  After their meeting President Obama boarded Air Force One to travel to St. Petersburg, Russia to attend the G-20 Summit.
