On October 22, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain presided over the meeting of the Alto Patronato, Consejo Rector and Consejo Asesor Iberoamericano Casa de América at Palacio de Linares. Afterward, His Majesty held an audience with the President and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance at Palacio de la Zarzuela.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias was at the Teatro Salón Cervantes in Madrid to preside over the ceremony of the 16th Edition of the Premio Cervantes Chico. According to the Spanish royal court, the Council of Alcalá de Henares:
“… created this award in 1992, in parallel to the Premio Cervantes, and is the highest honor of Hispanic literature. The award is given to authors of children’s literature in recognition of their work…”
Mr. Jordi Sierra i Fabra was the recipient of this year’s award.
On October 18, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias presided over the closing day of the Confederación Española de Directivos y Ejecutivos held at the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid. During today’s meeting the future king of Spain gave a speech and mingled with attendees.
Yesterday, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain was in El Alto, Bolivia, where she gave a speech expressing her:
“…admiration for the work of the Spanish aid workers in Bolivia, that helps improve the lives of half a million families, and showed their support for the educational development in the most disadvantaged populations of Bolivia…”
Her Majesty also visited Tiwanaku to “…check progress of the archaeological work carried out in the ruins of this ancient pre-Columbian city…”
Today, Her Majesty flew to Santa Cruz de la Sierra in eastern Bolivia to meet with Governor Rubén Costas to discuss “… projects supported by Spanish cooperation…”
Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain is currently in Bolivia for an official four-day visit. Yesterday, Her Majesty visited the Museo Nacional de Arte de Bolivia and held a meeting with the President of Bolivia, Mr. Juan Evo Morales, at the Palacio del Gobierno. During the meeting President Morales thanked Her Majesty for Spain’s support:
“… in improving health and education in Bolivia, and expressed confidence that this would continue in the future and reconfirmed that he will attend the Ibero-American Summit in Cadiz, which will be held in mid-November.”
On October 17, 2012, Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena presided over the 10th Edition of the Premios Ciudad Sostenible (Sustainable City Awards) held at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid:
“The awards are presented to municipalities and cities in Spain who have opted for projects and actions aimed at promoting sustainability.”
On the morning of Tuesday, October 16, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience with professional golfers José María Olazábal, Miguel Angel Jimenez, and Sergio García at Palacio de la Zarzuela. The three men participated in the 2012 Ryder Cup last month at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
And, finally, His Majesty presided over a boring meeting for the presentation of Informe TransformaTalento: España hacia una Sociedad y Economía de los Talentos Realizados.
