This afternoon at Palacio de la Zarzuela His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain — looking incredibly frail — and His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias participated in a meeting with members of the Consejo de Seguridad Nacional.

On July 10, 2013, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the CaixaForum in Madrid to preside over the delivery of 120 La Caixa scholarships to post-graduate and graduate students who will be studying aboard in the coming months.

On the morning if July 10, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias toured the Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama located just north of the city of Madrid.

Lat month Sierra de Guadarrama was declared a national park by the Spanish government in order to protect endangered flora and fauna within the park.

On July 9, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Virgen del Camino in León to present royal commissions to new graduates of the Academia Básica del Aire.

On Monday, July 8, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Teatro Valle-Inclán in Madrid to preside over the 10th Edition of the Premios Buero de Teatro Joven, a competition for youth Spanish theatre groups.

On July 5, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived in Zaragoza to participate in the granting of commissions to 383 military officers who recently completed their studies at the Academia General Militar de Zaragoza.
