On January 8, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Sala Berlanga in Madrid to view the new documentary entitled, La Pasión del Prado.

The documentary, produced in collaboration with Radiotelevisión Española, Museo del Prado and the Ministerio de Cultura, gives viewers a tour of the famous collections held at the Museo del Prado.

On December 19, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain participated in a meeting with members of the Fundación Comité Español de los Colegios del Mundo Unido in Madrid.

On December 19, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Ciudad Financiera del Grupo Santander in Madrid to participate in the “…presentation of the 2013-2014 Becas Santander CRUE-CEPYME Prácticas en Empresa (Santander Scholarships CRUE CEPYME Practices in Business) ceremony…” according to the Spanish royal court.

On December 18, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the VIII Gala Anual del Comité Olímpico Español (COE) held at the headquarters of the Comité Olímpico Español in Madrid. 

During this evening’s award ceremony Prince Felipe was presented with the  Orden Olímpica de Oro (Golden Olympic Order).

On Tuesday, December 17, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid to attend the inauguration of the Várez-Fisa Gallery in “…recognition of the generosity of José Luis Várez Fisa and family for donating artworks to the museum…” according to various sources.

On December 12, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Auditorio Rafael del Pino in Madrid to attend the XVII Edition of Premios CODESPA.

As Honorary President of Fundación CODESPA the prince presented the award to various individuals and organizations in “…recognition of their contribution to eradicate poverty through projects and charitable initiatives as well as the promotion of social responsibility…” according to the Spanish royal court.
