On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias presided over a meeting the board of trustees from the Fundación Príncipe de Asturias as well as with representatives from the Príncipe de Asturias and Miembros Protectores at the Palacio Real de Madrid.

Thereafter, the royal couple attended a concert performed by the students from the Escuela Internacional de Música according to the Spanish royal court.

On June 10, 2014, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the Centenary of the Instituto Español de Oceanografía held at the Parque del Retiro in Madrid.

According to the Spanish royal court, the Instituto Español de Oceanografía:

“…was founded in 1914 and is dedicated to research in marine science, especially in matters related to the scientific knowledge of the oceans, the sustainability of fish stocks and the marine environment.”

On Monday, June 9, 2014, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain welcomed the President of Mexico, Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto, and First Lady Angelica Rivera, to Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid.

After the official welcoming ceremony and a reception at the palace Their Majesties, President Nieto and the First Lady arrived at Palacio de La Zarzuela for a luncheon in honor of President Nieto’s two-day state visit to Spain.

On Friday, June 6, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Spain to attend the I Edición de los Premios Nacionales de la Moda.

On June 4, 2014, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain attended the 2014 Premio Reino de España award ceremony at Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid.

The winner of the award went to the founder of SENER, Mr. Enrique de Sendagorta Aramburu.

On June 4, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Monasterio de San Salvador de Leyre in Navarra, Spain, to attend the 2014 Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura and Homenaje a los Reyes de Navarra (Homage to the Kings of Navarra).

The winner of the 2014 Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura went to well-known historian, Tarsicio de Azcona, O.F.M.Cap.
