News Regarding His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. (VIDEO)

HMKAofJordanOn March 13, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the Civil Defense Department in Amman.  During his visit His Majesty was “…briefed on the CDD’s services in various fields.”

His Majesty also attended the inauguration of the new Public Security Department complex in the suburb of Muqableen.  After the opening His Majesty “…toured the facilities of the new complex which houses most of the PSD’s management and services department.  He also inspected the PSD’s high tech main operations room…”

And, finally, His Majesty King Abdullah II held an audience with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Antonio Guterres in Amman.  During the meeting, Mr. Guterres “…voiced [his] appreciation of services provided by Jordan to the [Syrian] refugees and urged the international bodies to support the Kingdom to enable it to continue its humanitarian aid to the displaced Syrians.”

News Regarding His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

HMKAofJordanOn March 12, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan received an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani to participate in an “…Arab Summit in Doha on March 26-27, 2013…”

And, finally, His Majesty accompanied by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited an “…enterprise conference…” in Amman according to the Jordan News Agency.  During the conference His Majesty:

“…remarked that Jordan and the United Kingdom enjoy historical bonds, laid by the late King Hussein bin Talal and these bonds developed into a true partnership. [His Majesty also] appreciated the United Kingdom’s support for Jordanian innovation and entrepreneurship…”

News Regarding Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan.

JordanOn the morning of March 11, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received credentials from ambassadors from Italy, Ecuador, Finland, Indonesia, and Greece at the Basman Palace.

Afterwards, His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, and the new six ambassadors visited the tombs of the “…late King Abdullah I and King Talal.  During the ceremony wreaths were placed at the tombs.”

His Majesty also held an audience with the Foreign Minister of New Zealand, Mr. Murray McCully, in Amman.  His Majesty and Mr. McCully discussed “…bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East and Syria.  His Majesty also highlighted  the need to forge closer cooperation between Jordan and New Zealand, mainly in the economic and investment fields…” according to various sources.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Visits the Armenian Relief Society.

RaniaJordanOn Sunday, March 10, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Armenian Relief Society in Jebel Al Ashrafieh.

According to the Jordan News Agency:

“Her Majesty met with the society’s board members including Vice Chairman, Arsineh Jambazian, who briefed the Queen on the different services the society provides to empower the Jordanian community and women in specific.  

Queen Rania then met members of the society’s general assembly and congratulated the women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. 

The Armenian Relief Society aims at preserving the cultural identity of Jordan’s Armenians, improving the educational, social health and welfare of the community as well as encouraging citizens to be more involved in public service and other local organizations that support local communities.”

News Regarding His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

HMKAofJordanOn March 9, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan officially opened the 2013 Jordan-U.S. Business Forum held at the King Hussein Business Park in Amman.

According to the official website for the Jordan-U.S. Business Forum the event was established to:

“…unite key private and public sector leaders from both countries to promote and advance mutually-beneficial business opportunities in Jordan that serve the country and the greater Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.  It also aims to enable U.S. companies, through Jordan, to expand their businesses in the Levant and wider MENA regions.

The 2013 Forum features both plenary and industry-specific sessions specifically designed to provide valuable insight into the unique competitive advantages that Jordan has to offer for regional businesses in view of the Arab Spring.”

HMKAofJordanOn March 7, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan attended the closing session of the 2013 MENA ICT Forum, under the theme Arab ICT Spring: Realizing Potential, held at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Center at the Dead Sea.

In other news, His Majesty will officially open the 2013 Jordan-U.S. Business Forum on Saturday, March 9, 2013, in Amman, Jordan.  Per the Jordan News Agency:

“The Forum aims to enhance bilateral partnerships, as well as explore and seize mutually beneficial business opportunities in Jordan and the region.  

Over three-days Jordanian and U.S. companies and business decision-makers will discuss and identify the potential opened by the Arab Spring in key sectors, as regional countries in transition seek to energize their economies.  

This year’s event will feature plenary and industry-specific sessions tailored to provide first-hand insights into the unique competitive advantages that Jordan offers to regional business.  

Panel discussions led by regional and international experts will focus on crosscutting themes that are vital to regional expansion into fast-growing sectors such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Energy, Water and Environment, Manufacturing, Basic Industries and Related Services, Healthcare and Education, and Infrastructure…”

 

TMs King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan Visit Turkey: Day Two. (VIDEO)

TMJordanOn March 6, 2013, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan continued their two-day official visit to Turkey.

This afternoon, His Majesty along with the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, toured the TUSAS Aerospace Industries (TAI) production facilities in Ankara.  According to the Anadolu News Agency, His Majesty and President Gül, “…inspected Turkey’s first national attack helicopter, the T-129 ATAK, the two leaders also watched a demonstration flight of the helicopter.”

His Majesty also attended the Turkey-Jordan Economic Cooperation Meeting where he gave a speech:

 “…urging the Jordanian and Turkish private sectors to boost partnerships between the two countries.  The king also underlined the need to promote cooperation and establish joint projects that benefit the two peoples in terms of job creation and trade exchange.”

His Majesty King Abdullah II also met with the Prime Minster of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan.  

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Rania visited the Institute of Technical Education for Girls in Ankara.  During her visit Her Majesty “…listened to a briefing on the activities undertaken at the institute, which is currently operating in 14 provinces in Turkey…” according to the Jordan News Agency.
