On the evening of March 23, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II, hosted a gala banquet at the palace in Amman for President Obama and his delegation.
This morning the President visited the ancient and fabulous city of Petra.

On March 22, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience with President Barack Obama in Amman. According to the Petra News Agency:
“The two leaders stressed, during the bilateral meeting that was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hessein bin Abdullah II and followed by an extended meeting attended by Jordanian and United States senior officials, keenness on promoting cooperation and strategic partnerships between the two countries to serve interests.
His Majesty and President Obama also discussed the consequences of the Syrian crisis and the huge burden that Jordan shoulders as a result of hosting Syrian refugees.”

On March 19, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan attended the opening of the Ghazzat Hashem Mosque in Ein Al Basha. After the official opening His Majesty, accompanied by various government officials, was given a tour of the new three story mosque.
His Majesty also made a surprise visit to an “…impoverished community living in tents near Amman…” according to the Jordan News Agency. During his visit the king, “…checked the conditions of the families living in the tents and ordered authorities to secure a decent living [conditions] for them.”
On March 18, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orban.
According to the Jordan News Agency discussions focused on “…cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the economic, trade and investment fields.”
On March 18, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) training programs in the Ajloun governorate.
According to the Jordan News Agency, Her Majesty met with:
“…teachers, principals and supervisors from the North who started taking courses with the QRTA last year. Her Majesty also visited the Teacher’s Club in Ajloun where she attended part of the QRTA’s Leadership workshop.”
On Friday, March 22, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan will meet with President Barack Obama in Amman.
Discussions will focus on: “…bilateral cooperation, regional issues and the Syrian crisis. Other issues on the agenda include ways to deepen the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and for Jordan’s comprehensive reform process.”
The President’s visit will last two days.
