Later in the evening, His Majesty accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan arrived at the Vatican to begin their brief visit. His Holiness Pope Francis will hold an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday to discuss various issues including “…ways to enhance Muslim and Christian cooperation and dialogue, the latest developments in the Middle East, and bilateral relations…” according to Petra News.
On Monday, August 26,2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II opened the “…new building for the explosives unit which is part of the Special Branch in the Public Security Directorate…” in Amman according to Petra News.
Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan held a meeting with representatives from the medical humanitarian organization, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, in Amman. Her Majesty was informed about the work Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières “…carries out in Jordan and its partnerships with the Ministry of Health and the Jordan Red Crescent Hospital.”
Yesterday in Amman His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan swore in 13 new cabinet ministers after His Majesty approved of a “…reshuffle of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour’s government on Wednesday…” according to Ammon News.
His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan met with members of the Royal Committee for Enhancing the National Integrity System on Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Amman.
During the meeting, His Majesty “…stressed that the committee should introduce a recently drafted national integrity charter to all components of the society as a prelude to a national conference in order to ensure the highest degree of national consensus…” according to Petra News.
And, finally, His Majesty met with Jordanian Armed Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Alsweilmeen this afternoon when he visited the Gendarmerie Department. During their meeting discussions focused on “…a number of issues of concern to the Gendarmerie forces…”
On Thursday, August 15, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan welcomed United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, to Al Hummar Palace in Amman.
During their meeting discussions focused on the Syrian crisis, latest developments in the Middle East and ways to “…achieve peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis based on the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative…” according to Petra News.
His Majesty also held a meeting with United States Senator, Mr. Bob Corker, this afternoon.
