On Sunday, November 3, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan participated in the “…opening of the First Ordinary Session of the 17th Parliament…” in Amman according to Petra News.
During today’s opening His Majesty gave a speech, and according the Associated Press, he:
“…told parliament’s opening session that he will press ahead with plans to amend election laws the opposition says favor pro-palace candidates and overhaul a public sector widely seen as rife with corruption and nepotism.
The king called the reforms a ‘white revolution’ – a term royal aides say signifies a peaceful change rather than one of turmoil like those brought by the Arab Spring, which saw four regional leaders deposed in uprisings.”
On October 29, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan participated in the opening of the 9th World Islamic Economic Forum held at ExCel in London. His Majesty also held meetings with the President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, and the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, to name a few.
In the afternoon, His Majesty arrived at Clarence House to meet with Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
On October 27, 2013, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan welcomed the President of Montenegro, Mr. Filip Vujanović, and his wife, Svetlana Vujanović, to Al-Hummar Palace in Amman.
The purpose of President Vujanović’s official visit to Jordan is to “…strengthen bilateral ties and means of enhancing them in various fields in addition to regional and international issues of common interest…” according to Petra News.

On October 23, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan “…honored today a group of schools that received accreditation for the years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 by the National School Health Standards program which is run by the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Education…” according to Petra News.
Meanwhile, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience with the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Advisor, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, in Amman.
On Wednesday, October 9, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan attended the 6th Edition of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Amman. During the event His Majesty presented trophies to various winners.
On October 2, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein watched a military exercise by members of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the “…IBDAA Charity Society an organization that adopts talented young people between the ages of five and twenty, focusing on the less fortunate and attempting to improve their abilities…” according to Petra News.
During the visit Her Majesty met with representatives from IBDAA, toured the organization’s facility, met with volunteers and much more.
Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan held an audience with Dr. Helene Gayle, President and CEO of CARE USA, and representatives from CARE in the Middle East and CARE Jordan in Amman this afternoon.
According to Petra News, during the meeting discussions focused on CARE’s work “…in Jordan and the region.”
