On the morning of Friday, January 31, 2014, Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway visited the municipality of Flatanger in Nord-Trøndelag county.
According to the newspaper, Norway Post, Their Majesties visited the “…Municipality Center in Lauvsnes and the villages Småværet and Hasvag, which were both strongly affected by the fires that started Monday evening.”

On January 31, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway visited the Balder Tekstil (Textile) in Oslo. During today’s visit the crown princess met with staff and toured the facility.

On January 23, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium along with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the session, The Millennial Challenge, during the 44th Edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

On Thursday, January 23, 2014, Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway visited Lærdalsøyri in Sogn og Fjordane county. Last Saturday, a fire broke out in the village “…damaging more than 30 historic wooden buildings and 16 homes…” according to the BBC and Sky News.
During their visit Their Majesties met with rescue workers, residents and toured the fire damaged area.

On January 20, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway arrived at the Nobels Fredssenter in Oslo to attend the Årets Forbilde (Role Model of the Year Award). The winner of the award went to Mr. Musa Anderssen.
