On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway attended the 2014 Abelprisen held at the University Ceremonial Hall at the University of Oslo.
The winner of 2014 Abelprisen went to Mr. Yakov G. Sinai from Princeton University and the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences for “…his fundamental contributions to dynamical systems, ergodic theory, and mathematical physics.”
On May 6, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway along with dozens of volunteers participated in the 2014 Strandryddedagen (Coastal Cleanup Day) at Østre Bolærne in Nøtterøy, Vestfold.
On April 2, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway arrived at the Thor Heyerdahl Videregående Skole (high school) in Larvik to participate in Global Dignity Day.
On April 1, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway participated in the Train of Literature from Bodø to Stjørdal.
During today’s event the crown princess “…shared her favorite literature with audiences at various stops which included the towns of Fauske, Rognan, and Mo i Rana…” according to the newspaper, Local Norway.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway arrived at the Nasjonalgalleriet in Oslo to open the special photo exhibition, Mette Tronvoll: Portretter av Dronning Sonja.
On March 12, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway accompanied by his son, Prince Sverre Magnus, officially opened the exhibition, Pappa’n i de Mange Landat, the International Museum of Children’s Art in Oslo.
