Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway were in Sundvolden, Norway this morning to visit the “…Arbeidsinstituttet, a local labor institute which offers courses in a number of subjects for young people…”
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the 2013 Co-Op Environmental Awards held at the Nationaltheatret in Osloon April 16, 2013.
On Saturday, April 13, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra and His Highness Sverre Magnus attended the 2013 Ridderrennet in Beitostølen, Norway.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit was in Oslo where she attended the opening of the new Fontenehuset Oslo Østs, “…a place that offers rehabilitation of people with mental illness. The main objective of the Fontenehuset Oslo Østs is the rehabilitation of members based on their own needs, and to enhance their opportunities to achieve an equal existence in society.”
On April 9, 2013, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway was at the Scandic Hotel Fornebu in Oslo to attend the High-Level Meeting on Energy and the Post-2015 Development Agendaconference. During today’s opening the crown prince gave a keynote speech along with the Norwegian Minister of International Development, Mr. Heikki Holmås, and the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Alhindawi.
According to the official website for today’s event the purpose of the conference is to:
“…consider the results of the consultations and provide recommendations to the UN Secretary-General’s High Level Panel on the post-2015 development agenda. The meeting will examine potential global energy objectives and proposals for processes on how to continue engage with key stakeholders towards 2015 at national, regional and global levels.”
On April 5, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway participated in a board meeting for the Foundation for the Queen Sonja Nordic Art Award. Meanwhile, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway held audiences with representatives of Friends of the Earth Norway and with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon. His Majesty accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway presided over the Council of State held at the royal palace in Oslo.
And, finally, Her Highness Princess Märtha Louise attended the Government’s Reception to celebrate the Norwegian athletes’ achievements in the Special Olympics Winter Games.
