His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway Visits Finland. (VIDEO)

cphaaOn Tuesday, October 22, 2013, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway arrived in Helsinki, Finland to begin his two-day official visit.

Yesterday, the future king of Norway meet with “…the President of the Republic, Sauli Niinistö and his spouse at Mäntyniemi…” according to the official website for the President of Finland.

Thereafter, Crown Prince Haakon attended a luncheon meeting with the “…Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen and a visit[ed] to the maritime engineering company, Aker Arctic.”

Today, the crown prince visited “…Aalto University, the Ateneum Art Museum and Marimekko.”

Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway Attend the Opening of the 158th Norwegian Storting. (VIDEO)

NORWAYOn Wednesday, October 9, 2013, His Majesty King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway attended the opening session of the 2013-2014 Norwegian Storting.

During today’s event His Majesty, who officially opened the 158th session, gave a speech which “…present[ed] the main features of the Government’s policies for the coming year. The Speech from the Throne is written by representatives of the Government, not by the King…” according to the Norwegian royal court.

Norway1On the morning of October 8, 2013, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway arrived in Notodden in Telemark county to celebrate the town’s 100th anniversary.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway opened Quo Vadis new adult education and training center for immigrant men and women in Trondheimsveien in Oslo.

Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway Visits Two Exhibitions During the 2013 London Design Festival.

HM Queen Sonja of NorwayOn Saturday, September 21, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway arrived at the Dray Walk Gallery in London to view the exhibition, 100% Norway, as part of the Tent London during the 2013 London Design Festival.

Her Majesty also visited the exhibition, KHiB with Friends, which showcases  Norwegian “…furniture, interior furnishings, lamps, clothing, textiles and graphic design…” according to the Norwegian royal court.

News Regarding Members of the Norwegian Royal Family. (VIDEO)

NorwayOn Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway visited and watched the  Barents Rescue training session, organized by the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection, in Lyngen in Troms County.

According to the Norwegian royal court:

“The Barents Rescue is a full scale rescue and collaborative exercise [which involves] Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, and Russian rescue crews. 

The four countries have signed an agreement on mutual assistance across borders in case of a major crisis or accident were to occur. The exercise is held every other year, and involving organizations and agencies that will be involved at the major rescue operations in the Barents region.”

Meanwhile, in south Norway, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit continued their visit to the county of Vest-Agder where they toured the municipalities of Audnedal and Åseral. On the agenda today included a visit to the Åseral primary and secondary school, a tour of the Minne-Åseral Kultursenter (Cultural Center), visited Byremoparken where the crown princess opened a new hiking trail, and more.
