News Regarding His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. (VIDEOS)

On Monday, October 8, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco along with Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover attended the inauguration of a new intuitive surgical robot at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace.

The robot, nicknamed Da Vinci, will be used for gynecological, visceral, and urological surgeries:

“The instruments are fully controlled by the surgeon, allowing the surgeon easier access to sensitive areas with a high precision of movement. The Da Vinci robot  contributes to the well-being of patients by reducing the risk of post-operative sequelae, and the duration of hospitalization. The robotic surgery represents a major evolution of surgery for the 21st century.”

And, finally, yesterday, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II participated in the in a conference aboard the ship, Thunder.  The purpose of the conference was to discuss the preservation of the environment specifically the oceans.  The conference, also held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), was organized by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and the Musée Océanographique.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco on Vacation in Marbella.

After participating in various conferences in New York City, Monterey, California, Brussels, Belgium as well as meeting the locals in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco decided it was it was time for a mini-vacation.

On October 5, 2012, the sovereign prince was spotted in Marbella dining at the “… celebrity hotspot La Sala restaurant…” with 12 of his dearest and extremely tanned friends.

After dinner Prince Albert II and friends danced and partied the night away at the ultra hip club known as, Aqwa Mist.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Participates in the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium.

On Thursday, October 4, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium held inside the Jacques Delors Building at the European Union Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

During today’s event the sovereign prince gave a brief speech along with the European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ms. Maria Damanaki, and the President of the International Polar Foundation, Mr. Alain Hubert to name a few.

Topics during the symposium included: Perspectives from Arctic stakeholders, the future of energy resources in the Arctic, and management of Arctic marine resources.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium Attend a Gala Dinner in Brussels.

On the evening of October 3, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco along with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium and 300 guests attended a gala dinner held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the International Polar Foundation held at the Tour & Taxis in Brussels.

The International Polar Foundation, a partner with the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, was created in 2002 by:

“… Belgian polar explorer Alain Hubert and scientists André Berger and Hugo Decleir, as a foundation for the public good tasked with connecting science and society.  The Foundation works to raise the profile of polar scientific research, in order to advance human knowledge, and to promote informed action on climate change and the development of a sustainable society.”

During tonight’s gala dinner the InBev Baillet Latour Antarctica Fellowship was awarded to “… German Glaciologist, Mr. Reinhard Drews…”  The InBev Baillet Latour Antarctica Fellowship, worth 150,000 Euros, was created to “… promote research activities at, or in the vicinity of, the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica research station located in the Sør Rondane Mountain Range in East-Antarctica.”

Tomorrow, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II will participate in the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium held inside the Jacques Delors Building at the European Union Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

“Arctic Futures Symposium brings together a wide variety of Arctic stakeholders, including EU and foreign policymakers, scientists, industry representatives, indigenous peoples and academics. A key international multidisciplinary forum to discuss future scenarios for the Arctic, the Symposium will participants discussing the key issues facing a region that is coming under increasing interest.”

Topics to be discussed will include future of energy resources in the Arctic including renewable energy solutions, the management of fisheries and marine protected areas, the importance of long-term scientific monitoring in the Arctic, and much more.

Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover Attends the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco Awards.

On October 2, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover participated in the 2012 Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco Awards held at the Salle Garnier in Monte-Carlo.

This year’s recipients include: Ms. Kaija Saariaho, Mr. Martin Smolka, Ms. Hélène Gestern, Mr. Philippe Lançon, and Mr. Jean-Paul Kauffmann.

The awards were presented to this year’s winners in recognition of outstanding works in the areas of Musical Composition and Literature.

 

 

 

 

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco at Oktoberfest.

Recently, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was in Munich to attend the famous Oktoberfest with his friends including Prince Leopold of Bavaria.  According to various sources, the sovereign prince visited the Winzerer Fähndl and then stopped by the “…shooting range next to the Käfer Wies’n Schänke..”
