On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco, Mr. and Mrs. Andrea Casiraghi, and Mr. Pierre Casiraghi arrived at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-Immaculee de Monaco to attend a Te Deum Mass — led by Archbishop Bernard Barsi — in celebration of Fête Nationale 2013.
After Mass the princely family returned to the Palais Princier where the medals presentation was scheduled to take place in the inner courtyard of the Palais. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain and gusty winds the ceremony took place in the Galerie d’Hercule upper hallway of the Palais just outside the Galerie des Glaces.
Thereafter, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene — wearing a navy wave jacquard lamé and wool double-face asymmetrical coat accessorized with a blue felt capeline hat and a black clutch in horsehair designed by her close friend, Mr. Albert Kriemler, for the House of Akris — made a balcony appearance at the Palais to wave to the proud and soaking wet Monégasque citizens.
Again, due to the bad weather the military parade in front of the Palais Princier was cancelled. Nonetheless, it was a great day for all and happy Fête Nationale to all in lovely Monaco.
